UPDATED: JUL 3, 2005 (Bottle 50 cl) Deep, hazy amber with a creamy, off-white head and some sediment in the bottle. Very dry and aromatic with a typical nutty ale-aroma and a touch of sweetness behind the pronounced hoppiness. A touch of iron? Very pretty label. 271203

Amber coloured. Sweet and honeyish aroma. Medium bodied and one-dimensional with sweet finish.

Hazy orange-amber color. Sweet aroma, caramel and malt. The front is quite light, then some more caramel, malt and bitterness arise, with a fruity touch. The finish is well bitter but short. A quite good but simple Bitter.

Nice looking label. Amber color, lace. Medium creamy white head. Aroma is hops with some caramel. Taste is sweet toffee with some late bitterness. A bit like Porin Juhlaolut.

(12oz bottle, best by 17 Oct 03 -- wish i had spent more time in the out-of-town bottle shop to get fresh beer, really need to do that in the future) Medium beige head atop an opaque amber body. Aroma is moderately sweet, honey, caramel, butterscotch, orange. Taste is medium sweet, earthy, some herbal, caramel, light butterscotch. Faint astringency shows up in the swallow. Creamy medium body.

The best of the Federation beers in my opinion. Nothing spectacular or surprising - just a well balance ale. The finish is slightly soapy.

Amber/orange color with a white head. Aroma is bready and a little spicy. Flavor is kind of spicy as well, and it turns into quite a bitterness.

UPDATED: NOV 30, 2006 This is a tasty bitter, a hazy copper drink with a creamy-but-short-lived-head. The aroma is toffee and apples with a light, earthy hop smell. Perhaps a bit thin, it nonetheless delivers a satisfying caramel & toffee malt taste with a bit off nuttiness added. Head is initially large, frothy, off-white, mostly lasting. Body is
clear light amber. Aroma is moderately malty (cookie), lightly hoppy
(flowers), light note of diacetyl. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly
acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic,
moderately bitter. Light to medium body, velvety texture, lively
carbonation, metallic. Nice quaffing ale, but there are cleaner
examples...the metallic finish makes it hard to desire drinking more.

Amber coloured. Strong aroma of Fuggles. Mild and slightly sweet flavour. Bland.
