750 ml bottle. Pours a deep reddish hue with a large light beige head. A light nose of spices and big berries. A pretty similar flavor with an emphasis on berries, light caramel, sweet. Pretty light flavors. Earthy at times. Light spices. Decent. Tastes thin despite the high ABV.

Shared 750 ml. bottle at a recent group tasting. Poured a mahogany/brown color, with good clarity, modest, light tan head foam, and light, spots & streaks of lacing. The aroma was light roast, subtle smoke & peat, and some molasses & dark fruit sweetness. The flavor was similar, with low hop bitterness and a body that was just a bit fuller than medium. Subtle alcohol warmth showed up toward the finish. Tasty, but except for the posted abv, more in the 80/- Scottish range to me.

Bottle at Peter’s RBSG. Pours dark brown with a tan head. Aroma is Bananas Foster with bourbon. Flavor has boatloads of caramel and bourbon with a touch of white grapes. Crisp but harsh mouthfeel, like extra sharp ginger ale. Good scotch ale that could use a little taming.

Had on tap at Allentown BrewWorks and also brought home 750ml bottle. Dark brown with little head and good carbonation. Malty caramel aroma. Not too hot, nice sweet malty flavor. Drinkable for 8.5% abv. An excellent Scotch Ale which has won some GABF awards. I don’t usually find scotch ales to be so drinkable, however my drinking companion did not find it so.

Poured from a 750 ML bottle. Pours a mahogany color with a finger or two of beige head. Aroma is some smoked peat and malts. Taste is fairly typical for the style...slightly sweet, slightly smokey, some dried fruits similar to a Belgian Dubbel

From growler thanks to Richlikebeer. Light brown color with a small tan head. Aroma of lightly smoked malt, butter and a touch of caramel. Not the most pleasant aroma, at least to me. Flavor was much better than the aroma. The odd butter aroma was not present in the flavor. Caramel, malt, smoke predominant.
