Pours black. The carbonation seems a little on the fizzy side; bubbles are pretty large at first then fades to a cream like head. Nose is roasted burnt malts, yeast, bread, raw wood, and whiskey. Flavor is heavy on barrel aged whiskey, vanilla, and caramel. Palate is pretty thick and rich but has a little too much carbonation fizz. Overall a pretty good imperial stout but a little one dimensional burnt whiskey character.

750 ml bottle at ABW. Pours dark brown with a surprisingly light brown head. The aroma is very chocolaty with nuts and wet wood. The flavor is the same and very smooth with some light hints of dark fruit and vanilla. No real bourbon notes except for some nice mild charred barrel and vanilla. Nice and chocolaty and easy to drink yet interesting and balanced. Really good beer.

Bottle from ericandersnavy to Cavie to me. Brown, soda-colored pour with a little carbonation. Aroma is chocolate, a little alcohol, and tons of licorice. Taste is vanilla, lots of wood, a little roast, and dark chocolate.

750 c&c from michael-pollack who has my eternal gratitude. De-corked with a loud pop. Pours black with a 4+ finger creamy dark tan head. All kinds of aromas. Toffee, coffee, bourbon/vanilla, chocolate. Full bodied. Flavor is all of the foregoing, but the chocolate is near dark baking chocolate, and the bourbon is playing against that. Amazing that the chocolate competes so well with the bourbon. Brilliant ale.

750ml bottle shared by mikelovesbeer. Thick dark pour with a big fluffy head. It was like your standard Imperial stout aged in bourbon barrels. Boozy aroma with chocolate and malts all over the place. Palate was somewhat shot by this point of the night but it was solid beer.

Pours black with a tan head. Has a vanilla, toaste malts smell. Taste is about the same with a little cocanut in there as well. Pretty good overall but the boubon seems very mild on the bootled version but still solid.

Draft at Devil’s Den with Vin. Pours a dark obsidian black with a fluffy, persistent tan head. Lacing is full and lingering. Aroma of soft, sweet bourbon, lightly toasted coconut, roasted malts, dark chocolate, and slight hints of molassess and vanilla. Rich yet surprisingly light mouthfeel with some nice boozy warmth on the tongue. Tastes very much like a rootbeer float with chocolate syrup on it. Amazing.
