Crystal clear golden-orange body, moderate sized creamy white head with soapy lacing. Nose is mostly grapefruit with some resin and pine. Traces of crackery malts. Flavor is more resinous but grapefruit is still dominant. Medium bodied with gentle carbonation and pronounced bitterness in the finish.

12 oz bottle thanks to Casey: Pours dark yellow, orange with a nice off white head that lasts. Aroma of sweet caramel and bready malts. Thick CO2 release. Taste is well balanced, slightly sweet. God bready malts, slightly bitter. Hop flavors get slightly drowned out. Smooth but warm and bubbly mouthful. Slight citrus hops, rise to the top. Hides alcohol well, but it is a sipper.

Bottle courtesy of Ken shared with Linh, Ken, Daddy & Mommy Vuong. Pours a clear amber body with nice frothy white head that becomes a nice lasting lacing. Aroma is sweet sugary hop, citrus, bitter pine and light booze. Mouthfeel is slick with notes of sweet booze, pine, resin, and bitter citrus. Nice IPA.

Hop Hop and away. This is a west coast IPA made on the east coast. I enjoyed it more than most hoppy IPA’s, and I’ll definitely try to pick up some more.

Bottle, nose is hugely hoppy, leaning on pine and resins but with a little dough and plenty of grapefruit/citrus. Lightly hazy golden body with a short white head. Taste is sweet and even a little sugary, golden malt with big citric hops, light resin, medium bitterness, touch of dull caramel. Alcohol flows in slowly and warms gently, fullish body. Burps are bringing up pineapple and mango. A little bit over the top in terms of going to extremes, but the alcohol is pretty well juggled and there’s appreciable complexity. Probably a good introductory IIPA for someone who hasn’t been exposed.

This does not have much smell. I was a smoker for a decade and it killed my taste and smell buds (most of taste is actually olfactory). This smells of molasses a tad. Tastes of weird grape/fruityness whose scope of flavor is beyond that of my descriptors. looks good, typical IPA, but a little darker golden than some. Had no head but a slight effervescent retainer on top of white. Not my fav beer. Might even turn it down if offered at a social gathering.

citrus aroma. Maybe a hint of citrus in the taste. Very, very hoppy and bitter. Nicely carbonated, sizzles on your tongue. Not my favorite style of beer, but really, really good despite that. I’d never know it was 11.5%abv from sipping it. Quite a kick!

Bottle shared by Lunch. Thanks Paul! The beer is a hazy, radiant orange hue, with 1/4" of off white head. Lasting head retention and a decent amount of lacing on the snifter. The aroma offers, alcohol, pine, sweet malt, hops. The flavor is balanced, with a very prominent malt presence. The beer is pretty hot, and could / should be more hop forward, per the style. I’m glad we split this bottle, as six ounces was no small undertaking. Mediocre, and not a repeat for me. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 07-11-2011
