From the tap poured a darker amber color with a fair amount of head. Bitter malty hoppy flavor with a lingering finish.

NikkTwist (1519) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 10, 2014
Draft at Moriartys. Hazy reddish tan pour with some off-white foam that left lace. Vague red and brown fruit. Fuzzy bitterness. Grapefruit pith. Hints of toffee malts. Ginger caramels. Burnt tangerine peels. Not knowing quite what to do with this one. Not tasting like a Red Ale at all. More like a lower ABV Imperial IPA. There is very little aroma. Flavors are complex but feel muted. Unusual. Need to try again.

Draft at ABW. Pours hazy ruby with 2-finger tan head. Nose is intense resiny hops, pine, caramel malt, pineapple, tangerine, with a dense, very complex, intense fruity, hoppy, resiny finish. This beer is one of the top 100 I have ever quaffed.

Deep reddiish brown with a whitish head. Rather malty and lightly sweet, somewhat earthy with a hint of hops through the end.
