Bottle into an ale glass. Pour is ruby and high co2 that drops fast. Aroma is all it says on the bottle, spice and malt. Taste is the same with a warmth. Finish is a nice wash of spice.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: JAN 19, 2016 Draft at the Irish Pol. Clear dark orange brown pour with off-white foam. Runny lace mostly disappeared over time. Spicy malt brew with some dark amber fruit and vegetables. Brandy-soaked sugared pears. Clear candy toys. Nutmeg. Cinnamon. Clove. Peat. Celery. Ginger. Apricot cordials. Started off tasting sugary and simple but developed nicely as it warmed. Eventually feels surprisingly similar to many better Belgium Christmas brews albeit a bit rougher. Would have again.

Dark reddish tint, nice spice notes but not overwhelming. A bit of an aftertaste, but overall not bad for such a high abv. Will buy again.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 11/20
Not my favorite Xmas style beer. A bit of an aftertaste that made it off putting. Deep red and hazy. Spices and ok and not overboard. Heavy abv, but not worth the drink if you can get a better drink for your drunk! Tap

Damn, so much spice. Too much spice? Certainly is a Christmas inspired ale. Belgian yeast comes through, sweetness of the malts and possibly Belgian candied sugar.

UPDATED: OCT 26, 2015 2013 corked bottle-still vigorous carbonation. aroma is very fruity, almost vinous with a very sweet candy-like aroma, mixed with spice extract and alcohol fumes muddled in with some caramel/malt-seems more similar to a spiced wine than a belgian. flavor is about the same-very sweet with a vinous overtone-spices are medicinal and cloying, balanced only by the sweetness (and I love spices). palate is prickly and astringent. heavy and unrefined, definitely rude. maybe it sat too long, or just isnt too good

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours clear red-amber with a 1-finger bone-colored head. Aroma has notes of banana, honey, spices, and maybe some candied fruit. Body is medium, with a mild thickness. Finish is dry, with some astringency. Flavor of the spices, with some honey and an earthy note at the back. Some banana and a buttery note as it warms.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Thought this was a Belgian ale, so I poured it into a tulip.
The appearance was a hazy burnt orange to bronzed copper color. Slim quarter finger of white foamy head graced gently on the glass.
The smell had a sweet brown sugar to delicate spice - ginger, cinnamon and clove.
The taste started off mainly sweet and bled into the spices nicely. Light spicy sweet aftertaste led to a sticky sweet finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a fairly decent sipping quality about it. Alcohol not felt but then again I’m not worried since it’s from Christmas of 2014.
Overall, for what it is now, I like it as a Belgian ale or a Christmas spiced ale. It works.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a nice clear copper with a medium tan head. Very sweet caramel aromas with some citrus. It really smells like a holiday desert. Very sweet and almost a bit sour. It has a light to medium body and thin texture. This is an above average holiday brew that you should definitely keep on your wish list.

Bottle reddish amber no head. Musty, holiday spice and alcohol nose. Flavor is very malty with spicing. A bit cloying finish.
