Aroma is heavy malt (cookie, caramel), average hops (perfume), average yeast (dough) with notes of light alcohol, clove, banana, nutmeg, cinnamon and coriander. Full bodied, sticky texture, lively carbonation and a slightly bitter finish. Average duration, moderate sweetness, heavy acidity and bitterness; spicy mouthfeel.

12oz bottle. Poured a dark and cloudy brown color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves (and I’m sure I’m missing a couple other spices in there), and on the fruity side. Closely reminded me of a stick of gum that’s been chewed on for a while. Tastes of the same. Spices are there in the tastes but not overpowering. Tastes like a spiced cake of some sort. Alcohol content well hidden. Lacing left on the glass.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: JAN 20, 2006 Sparkling clear amber ale. Fizzy, off-white head. Aroma of alcohol, cinnamon, nutmeg, coriander and allspice. Flavor matches the aroma... all the spices and warm alcohol. Full-bodied with an oily mouthfeel and fizzy arbonation. Short finish that starts sweet and ends up bone-dry. Odd, but nice.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Initially from fridge with a cloudy yeasty peach colour, soap bubble head. Good kitchen spice cabinet aroma. Initially creamy good medium mouthfeel, and spices refreshed.Like a good Begium, yet hint of metallic finish. As glass warmed, mouthfeel felt thinner and spices Ok but not delicious, more like an American Winter warmer.

12oz bottle, thanks to Dan H. Shared with b3shine. Clear amber color. Little, bubbly off-white head, couple dots of lace. Really nice spice, ginger, nutmeg nose. Good clove in the flavor. Nice moderate sweet, mild bitter, lightly spicy taste. Alcohol is very well-hidden. Bigger body. Smooth, kind of crisp lighter carbonation. Lightly dry finish. Very tasty, impressively easy-drinking winter warmer. Hides alcohol impressively well for 10%.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz bottle courtesy of hopdog… thanks. Dark amber beer with a fast fading head. The aroma is very spicy, nutmeg and lots of cinnamon. Spiced bread and plum pudding. Raisins and cloves. Flavour is quite spicy and peppery. Shows prominent alcohol and a fairly thin body. The spicing is quite nice though with enough bready malts to really back it up. Some sweet peach and plummy malts but then finishes strangely dry. An odd duck, this one.
