Uriel (141), San Jose, California, USA Mar 28, 2006 A big, dark, strong beer, found at a lovely sausagehouse where the proprietors spoke no english. Sweet and malty, with the darker fruits very prevalent in the flavor.
Illini08 (514), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA Jun 13, 2008 300 mL pour on tap at Buddy’s Pub in Interlaken. Paid 4 Franks. Transparent brown pour with a small, khaki colored head. Not much aroma, just lightly sweet. Flavor was simple. Lightly sweet malt and grain with a slight hint of burnt malt. Very easy to drink, but very also a very simple beer. malfino (20), pinzano, Italy Oct 24, 2007 I do agree with allen from switzerland. this beer is interesting and complex. but not too complex as this beer is well balanced and tastefull. Allen (559), Wölflinswil, Switzerland Oct 8, 2007 Bottled 50cl. It pours a deep ruby beer with a quick diminishing beige head. Caramel, butter, cherries, plums, dark chocolate and ryebread in the nose. The taste is of marshmallows, burnt coffee and plums. Earthy hops. Some ryebread again. The finish is surprisingly good with hints of butter and herbs. One of the best Feldschlösschen beers. MoritzF (3690), Ruhrpott, Germany Oct 1, 2007 (33cl bottle, courtesy of Quack-Duck) Clear, chestnut coloured hue with a fluffy beige foamy head. Sweet, slightly toasted malt aroma with notes of caramel, a subtle fruity tinge and light metallic hops. Bitter-sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a moderately carbonated mouthfeel. Toasty malty taste, light notes of caramel; a bit slim, light-bitter finish with shy herbal hops. pivnizub (3770), Porúří, Germany Aug 18, 2007 Bottle (by kind permission of Quack-Duck !): Deep amber coloured, bigger quite stable, creamy off-white head; sweetish dark-malty, slightly metallic nose; (artificial) sweetish-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied; sweetish, nutty, dark-malty finish. Quite well drinkable, decent stuff........
