COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

0,33l bottle in Basel. This would be a decent beer if it didnt taste like its been watered down. Grainy, slightly hoppy and slightly malty.

330ml bottle picked up at a Eurospar store in Basel. The noisy pour revealed a faint white head over a clear straw coloured body. Modest aroma of sweet pale malts. Sweet taste as well with pale malts, grain, and hints of herbal hops to the ending. Foamy in the mouth. Sweet and anonymous (hotel room, Basel 28.07.2014).

Review: Bottle of Feldschlösschen Original Pale Lager, 4.80%ABV One doesn’t generally associate beer with the Swiss, Chocolate and cooking clocks yes, but good beer? Feldschlösschen is a beer that can take on the big guns of Germany, Britain and the rest in Europe and hold its head up high. Its a bloody good beer, with a nice taste and easy to drink. Loved the appearance of pure clear yellow colour, bright and clean with a good big frothy head on top that stays with some lacing. Looks refreshing and tantalisingly good, saying "drink me, please!". Yeah that’s a cheesy line, Swiss style! A decent beer though. The aroma is light and malty, on the grainy side but with a little sweetness. Taste: What a light lager should be like; a nice crisp and smooth refreshing drink. Grain dominates the taste with very little bitterness. Not complex, well balanced, and very easy to drink. Could drink these all day long, perfect for a light session with friends.

Flying through Zurich on the way back to Belgium from Croatia - lounge had it stocked so had to try. Pretty mediocre Euro lager (didn’t help that it was served on the warm side - even for Europe).

Palate: Medium body. Moderate sweet and a moderate bitterness. Average carbonation.
Taste: Caramel malty and moderate herbal hoppy.
Overall impression: Plain boring pale lager.

50 cl on tap in our hotel in Davos. Aroma of grain, barley, somewhat watery (strange). Pours clear, straw yellow. Constant tiny sparkling. White lacing head. Taste is average, not rich, grain, bit sweet. Weak finish, dry. Weak beer, but I was happy to have a drink after the long drive.
