2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 tombyars (1102) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - DEC 13, 2011
First tasted this in the Ale House, Paisley in October 1992. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear russet red in colour with a thin white head . A hint of berry fruit in the short aroma.Thin but creamy mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malts give a digestive biscuit note with slight raisin fruit and thin caramel. Metallic tang of hop resins present in the short but intense bitter aftertaste. Finish is bitter sweet and well balanced with the sweet malt just edging it. An ok session bitter.

Cask conditioned - gravity dispense - Northampton BF. A rich brown ruby hued beer. The aroma has some fruits and malts but is quite restrained. The taste is well balanced but quite ordinary. Quaffable but uninspiring.

Cask at the Wharf. Sourish puke aroma. Has a lambik-like sourness, which is actually and surprisingly quite nice. Not something you get very often in cask ale, and probably not intended. Clear dark brown colour.

[Cask at Charlie’s Bar, Copenhagen] A hazy amber beer with an orange head. The aroma is sweet fruity combined with notes of nuts and light citrus. The flavor is sweet with lots of fruit and medium notes of caramel. The body gets a bit weak as You drink Your way thru a pint.
3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 chriso (7065) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 8, 2005
Cask at GBBF, August 2005. Its not often that a new beer from Felinfoel makes an appearance, so this was quite welcome. A nice looking copper/amber coloured session bitter. Scant aroma. Softly malty flavours, plus a reasonable ration of bittering hops, which is rather rare for a Welsh "bitter" . Not too sweet either. Reasonable grip. I’d happily drink this again, which is more than I could say for most of the bland, wishy-washy stuff that usually passes for bitter in that part of the world (step forward Worthington Bitter and Hancocks HB, you know who you are)..
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 tiggmtl (4475) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 6, 2005
Fruity aroma offers up notes of leafy tobacco and fresh earth. Clear copper-brown with low, off-white head that diminishes to ring. Toasty and cereal malt flavours with fair bitterness and lightly fruity character. Medium-light body with low carbonation. Somewhat simple and plain, though well made. Sampled on cask at GBBF 2005.
