Cask - Fat Cat, Norwich. Amber in colour with a small white head. Fruity maltiness in the aroma, though nothing particularly discernible. Green apple flavours, some stale malts and dusty hops with an earthy hop finish. It seems a bit confused and muddy. An ok mouthfeel, light carbonation and a slight finish.

First tasted this in Coanes,Johnstone in May 1992. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear russet in colour with a thick creamy white head. Slight note of green apple in the short aroma. Thin mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malts give a robust chewy digestive biscuit base with soft toffee and apple flavours. Dusty hop resins impart a metallic tang to the long aftertaste. Finish is sweet and malty with butterscotch notes coming through. My favourite in the Felinfoel portfolio and an excellent session ale for watching the rugby.

Draught at Wetherspoons. Darkish amber colour with decent white head. Sulphurous aroma and it’s the predominant characteristic in the flavour. Thin bodied. Think Marston’s Pedigree, only not quite that awful.

Cask-conditioned at the Clytha Arms, Gwent 11/05/09. Chestnut coloured with a lacy, off-white head. Big malty, aroma with plenty of red fruit and a hint of spicy caramel. The flavour also began with plenty of sweetness, a hint of sulphur and and a decent bitter finish. Served in excellent condition and good stuff.

Cask (Kitty’s, Helsinki) Red healthy head. Seriously sour malty aroma, alas seems to be because we’re at the end of the barrel. It’s metalic body is fruity sweet, I’m sure I’d like this, so will re-rate if possible.
