Couple of years old bottle.
Deep ruby red color, small beige head. Sour vinegar or balsamico aroma. Sourish flavor: vinegar, portwine, some sweetness. Malty, toasty background. Not such a tart beer as eg. Duchesse De Bourgogne, more like "session sour ale". Fizzy mouthfeel. Hints of metal in the aftertaste. (6/4/7/3/13 3.3)

Vintage 1982 courtesy of Jacob L. Clear amber color, no head. Oxicidazed, fruity nose. Soya sauce as well. Flat, apple flavored, a bit sour earthy with prunes and alcohol in the finish. (5/3/7/3/12 3.0)

Pours dark brown with tiny head. Classic sweet and sour aroma. Flavor is vinious and in good balance. Sweet and sour. Ok beer.

Bottle (25 cl) from hildigöltur’s beer cellar (thanks Jacob). Murky reddish brown with a small head. Fruity and cidery aroma with notes of dark berrries, wood, and some soy- or vinegar-like saltiness. Quit thin in body with low carbonation. Mildly sweet with a moderate sourness, some apple peel bitterness and a salty tone. Quite good but not as great as expected.

I’m not sure how old this is, but it has to be a few years old. Murky caramel off-white light cover. Surprisingly malty with a Vienna-type toastiness that comes across almost caramelly. Rather mineral in mouth and displaying a sulphur note that slightly detracts fro the enjoyment. Quite sweet and developing just a mild sourness really with branches-like and almost herbal woody tones. Everything is muddled in thick, veiled Belgian yeast to the point of being dusty. Not quite in the shape I hoped, but I like myself a musty ale from time to time.

Bottle, RBESG Grand Tasting 07. Thanks to jacob for this. 1982 vintage. Murky brown, thin off-white head. Malty alcoholic, wheaty, warm and something else that I couldn’t think of, perhaps it was almond? Mouth is lively and oak aged. Malty sweetness, lots of fruit there too. Finishes sweet and slightly stale, but still excellent.

Huge thanks to Jacob, bottle from 1982 and early 90’s. Rating is for 1982, thought the early 90’s bottle was great also. Alround, early sweetness, tart fruit, syrupy find of fruit balanced by the woody sourness, hints of dusty funk, good lasting finish. I managed to get a few glasses of this so chin chin the cad.

Reddish brown. Decent foam. Lots of carbonation. Sweet, syrupy aroma. Tart fruit flavor with a sour milky note. Not my type of beer.

Bottle from 1991 at de Herren... Reddish brown with a small head. Very slightly oxydated in aroma but not in flavour. Notes of malt, fruit, caramel, berries and somewaht sweet and vinous.

Bottled. Dark reddish brown color with tan creamy head. Sour aroma with licorice and acetic acid. Sweet and sour flavor with toasty and nutty notes, licorice, acetic acid and berries. Some sharp acidity in the finish.
