3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 sayravai (4526) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JUN 5, 2011
(Bottled, BBE 12/2011) Very nice blood-red color with a smallish, but firm and lasting, tanned head. Tart, vinegary aroma with some caramely-roasted maltiness. Flavor is mildly roasty, mildly vinegary, only slightly sugary-sweet. Almost medium body, foamy CO2. Normally I’m not such a big fan of Oud Bruins, but this is quite nicely balanced (sweetness & tartness) and refreshing. 4264
2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 jtclockwork (3433) - , New Jersey, USA - MAR 30, 2011
Bottle. Pours prune almost black. Tan head. Nose of muted cider vinegar and old socks. Taste is watered down vinegar. Soda like carbonation.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 DruncanVeasey (4800) - NUNEATON, Conference North, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - NOV 1, 2010
Cheesy sock, iron filings, red wine aroma....turning to sticky Chinese sauce, cinnamon, chip shop batter. Unique. Pours ruby with audible fizz, forming a stable beige collar. More of that deep fried, sticky Chinese flavour; syrupy oak with a tingle of cinnamon-dusted plain yoghurt, and rust, and cereal boxes. Sugared on the lips like a sticky plum sauce. I like a beer that challenges my descriptors, and this is doing just that. Fair play.
2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Abio (1058) - Waasland, BELGIUM - SEP 22, 2010
Sour-sweet smell, wood, fruits, milk, liquor. Probably not my beer... Looks are ok brown with a medium had, but it colapses to soon. Just a small head stays. Should get 2.5... Taste is sour fruits, some wood. I know sour ale is not my stuff, but it’s better drinkeable then expected. The sourness is not to overwhelming. In fact, besides it’s a bit to much mouthfeel like a soda and it’s even pretty sweet, it’s drinkeable. But this type of beer won’t be my favorite to soon.

25 cl bottle. Pours a dark red-brown color with a medium white head. The aroma is sour vinegar, caramel malts. A slightly sour flavor with lots of sweet sugary caramel brown malts. OK.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 planky84 (1170) - , Greater London, ENGLAND - MAY 19, 2010
25cl bottle from Beer Planet. Reddish-brown pour with a beige head which soon vanishes. Very nice sweet/sour aromas of licorice, oak, prunes, figs. Flavours of dried fruit, cherries, raisins, licorice, figs, dates. Nice sweet/sour balance. Dry finish with the aforementioned sweet/sour mix. Very pleasant.
