UPDATED: JUL 19, 2008 Bottled as "Speciaal Oudenaards" (BB 08/2007) Couple of years old bottle.
Deep ruby red color, small beige head. Sour vinegar or balsamico aroma. Sourish flavor: vinegar, portwine, some sweetness. Malty, toasty background. Not such a tart beer as eg. Duchesse De Bourgogne, more like "session sour ale". Fizzy mouthfeel. Hints of metal in the aftertaste. (6/4/7/3/13 3.3)

Bottle: Clear, ruby-amber coloured, quite stable beige head, visible carbonation; a faint touch of balsamico in the sweetish-sourish and caramelly nose; sweet and sour flavour, light bodied; sweet caramalt and a kind of very old vinegar in the short finish. A bit on the sweet side, but all in all pleasant.........
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Maria (8585) - Thisted, DENMARK - FEB 2, 2008
Red mahogany with a huge, creamy head. The aroma is sourish with light notes of caramel. The flavour has a light touch of vinegar, but more malt, caramel and light sweetness. The long finish has notes of citrus. It’s and Ok sour, but not nearly as nice as the Duchesse De Bourgogne from the same brewery.
