Bottle 275ml. @ Chriso’s pre GBBF Shindig ’09.
Clear dark red brown color with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is light heavy malty, roasted, caramel, licorice, light chocolate. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20090801]

Bottle from Chris O, thanks.
Opaque black color, small steady brown head. Burnt malts, licorice, paper, Mikkeller Black kind of liquid rubber in the nose. Lots of licorice, roasted malts, some sweeter notes. Very good althoug simple flavor, but background is a bit empty.

Bottle at the legend of chriso’s pre GBBF09 tasting. Alround rating: Lots of roasted burnt malt, massive mess of flavours, big alcohol presence. Went straight into the festival special with an epic fail.

Bottled. Very black colour, small brown head. Aroma is ccaramel malts, some roasted notes as well as toffee. Flavour is quite much the samel, it’s very sweet still very wellbalanced. A bit vintage feeling over it.

Cask at Chelmsford Winter BF, and easily my favorite of the festival. Even though i didn’t want to be that guy who liked the strongest beer available. Oh well. Huge, sweet dark-chocolate nose. Bittersweet flavor with lots of chocolate and toffee, caramel and coffee. Well-rounded flavor and soft, somewhat thick mouthfeel. Roasty, toffee aftertaste. Just delicious and dangerous.

Little carbonation, more of a film than a head. Sgtrong alchol presence overwhelms a nice body underneath. Coffee, liquorice, vodka aftertaste. Ghastly!
