Bottle @ pre-GBBF shindig, August 2009. An excellent tasty dark beer. Lovely chocolate. Some raisins. Spices are mercifully restrained. Full, rich mouthfeel, but not too heavy. Luscious, fruity sweetness but not too sickly or sticky. Touch or herbal bitterness on the end. Good balance, plenty of depth. Jolly good stuff. Not sure it’s a foreign stout though.

Bottle 50cl. @ Chriso’s pre GBBF Shindig ’09.
Dark brown color with a large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, chocolate, chemistry, berry, medicine. Flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20090801]

A Mes rate: bottle at the ever brilliant Chris O’s Pre GBBF Extravaganza.
Good stuff this is. I’m often a fan of Felstar beers and this is no exception. Big and fruity, just the rich spice and pudding, definitely some dark spirit notes. Faint chocolate. Boozy finish with a hint of bitterness and a bit of pepper. Great balance. Good stuff.

Bottle at the legend of Chriso’s pre GBBF09 Tasting. Alround rating: Big roasty burnt sweetness, lots of spice, no balance or colaboration, just a big mess. No good.

Chriso Shindig Aug 2009. Smooth, creamy, chocolate - alcohol, sherry, port, Old Jamaica. Two words I can’t read. A spanking good beer this.
