Mid amber colour. I found the aroma rather difficult to get to grips with. There’s some pale malt, something a bit vegetal and something a bit reminiscent of burnt rubber. The flavour is also rather unusual. Treacle toffee is noticeable at the outset, but there’s a herbal tang and bitterness coming through later on and lingering on the finish. Unusual, but somehow appealing. Cask (gravity dispense). Bright bottled from Chelmsford Winter Beer Festival 2005.
