Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. Looks like I’m well against the grain here. Amber, small white head. Faint sweet aroma. Earthy chocolate malt taste. Late bitter finish. Delicious, old fashioned beer, beautifully served.

Cask conditioned - handpump - Wig & Pen Northampton. An amber coloured beer with an off white head. The aroma is malty and fruity, as is the taste which is on the sweet side. The strength of the beer shows and there’s the merest hint of coffee. Not bad.

Bottle conditioned, 500 ml. Russet red with white head. Fizzed like a packet of beechams but then leaves a cardboardy boiled flavour, poor and possibly infected, there is an ashy, tobacco finish. Yeuk

From bottle. Sweet fruity aroma. Deep copper appearance with no head. I cant help think the taste is flat, a wooden husky feel leaving a smokey after taste. I wouldn’t want my doctor to prescribe this.
