Cask, Swan Inn, Liverpool. Hazy darkish amber colour. Malty, citrus aroma with some musty hoppage in the flavour. Something indefinably strange here, but not unpalatable.
1.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 4/20 jimbles85 (10) - ENGLAND - APR 25, 2007
Tasted at the Mill pub, Cambridge, and hopefully they need to take at least some of the blame for this murky, sour and not at all pleasant pint. That said, when I queried it the barman assured me that ’it is meant to be like that; it’s an acquired taste.’ I hope not.
3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 hughie (3992) - Bedford, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - JAN 31, 2007
Cask, gravity dispense, at Wellington Arms Beer Festival ’07, Bedford. Mid gold with a white head. Sweet malty aroma. Slight sweetness in the taste but the main impression is of old damp tweed. Mid bitter finish. Sounds odd. But it’s strangely palatable.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 imdownthepub (7491) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - MAY 21, 2006
Bottle Conditioned, 500ml, from Farmers Market in St Ives. Gold colour highly effervescent. I suspect a problem with the bottling of Fenland Beers, again there are dull, slightly off flavours, smokey, tobacco, ashy notes in an otherwise perfectly acceptable beer. Some citric fruit and a leafy oily hop note. Just not great in the bottle.
2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 DJMonarch (9151) - Northwich, Cheshire, ENGLAND - FEB 28, 2006
Cask Stillage at the Bhurtpore Inn, Aston 08/07/2005
Golden coloured with a slightly hazy appearance. Acidic taste. Slightly dry malt finish.

Cask conditioned - handpump - OGs Wellingborough. A copper coloured ale (too dark to be in the Golden ale style) There is a bit of grapefruit in the nose. A malty taste with some grass notes. Ok but a bit harsh.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 pughy1957 (61) - Rugby, ENGLAND - JUL 31, 2004
An amber coloured ale with a sweet fruit aroma. This leads to a citrus well hopped refreshing bitter finish.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 chriso (7065) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUN 2, 2004
Old gold colour. Clean and crisp with a decent bite. Typical citrus aromas, with a hint of dry malt on the palate. Quite highly hopped. Yeasty, slightly tart finish. A good example of a easy drinking summer ale, but just enough complexity and individuality to lift it out of the ordinary. Cask (gravity), Cambridge Beer Festival
