3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 imdownthepub (7491) - Banbury, - MAY 21, 2006
Bottle conditioned, 500ml, from St Ives Farmers Market. Gold colour with white head. Moving up the ABV of Fenland bottled beers the better it gets. Initial dry, herby taste then a sweetish fruit note, lemony, grapefruit. Better through the bottle. Not a White beer though.
4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 hughie (3992) - Bedford, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - JUL 8, 2007
Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. Dark gold. Quite an exotic aroma with pear, gooseberry and vanilla. Lovely, lasting fruity taste with wheaty overtones. A little bitterness. It slid down effortlessly. I thought this was a real winner.
2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 woodgnome (12) - ENGLAND - APR 11, 2007
Cask at Cambridge Blue. Pale bitter, thin in body and lacking much flavour. Curiously "fizzy" sensation in the mouth. A bit weird.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 MesandSim (7109) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 10, 2007
A Sim Rate (Cask at Planet Thanet): Smells like a curry. Cumin, coriander. Tastes smoky... like a wit version of Schlenkerla Rauchbier. Very bizarre. Wit, but rauch, but wit. Very nice.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 harrisoni (10070) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - FEB 8, 2007
500ml bottle from Brewery stall at Ely Market. Gold/copper colour with lasting white head. Rubbery aroma like all the beers I had in this batch apart from the raspberry stout which was fine. Good citrusy finish. OK in mouth, wheat gives it some depth. Lemony citrus finish. Fine, except for the aroma.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 JonMoore (1573) - Loughborough, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - AUG 29, 2005
Cask handpump at the Swan in the Rushes, Loughborough. It is seriously misleading calling this a wit. Sort of golden with a slight haze. Very fruity, thin bodied, but grew on me as it went down. Strange but interesting.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 chriso (7065) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 5, 2004
Not really what I was expecting from a "white" beer. There were some fresh grassy notes in the aroma, but also some cereally shredded wheat accents. The flavour was quite clean but not particularly wheaty, and even had vague smoky hints. Not bad, just not what I expected. Cask (gravity dispense) at Peterborough Beer Festival.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 maeib (6637) - Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, ENGLAND - SEP 29, 2004
Cask conditioned - hanpump - Anchor Birmingham. A golden beer with a slight haze. A citrus hop aroma and a refreshing lemon-wheaty taste. Very tasty and refreshing and nicer than any German wheat beers I’ve had.

Peterborough Fest. Comes over as a fairly standard bitter. Some interesting oak notes. A bit of toffee. A bit musty. OK.
