Boris is a jet black colour with an off-white head. The aroma is dark chocolate and coffee. The flavour starts like espresso then fades to a multitude of toasty, roasty and caramel malt flavors. Clean and crisp, full- bodied. Warmth from the high alcohol content lightens up the feel.

On tap feral! Pours a jet black with a tanned head. Roasted coffee, cocoa and piney hops in the nose. Taste is incredibly smooth. Like a mocha bomb exploding on the palate. Loads of dark chocolate and espresso. Thick mouth feel. 11.5%...what alcohol? Hidden so well. Definitely worth the wait. Awesome beer!!! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Surprisingly a nose of berries gets to you first. Leather on aroma too but this is a pleasant smelling beer. Coffee, licorice and sweetness on tongue. Thick enough. Great it's back. 9.1%. 2.4std dr. 330ml ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Not going to describe the black. Itís black. Medium, off white head. Slight rum aroma, with gentle licorice and some grassy aromas. Gentle but balanced aroma. Nothing really jumps out here, that said, itís the pinnacle of balance. After searching I found some molasses and dark, roasted malts. This beer hides the 9.1abv really well. Dense mouth fell with subtle carbonation, surprisingly dry end with a slight bitterness to finish.

Bottle from Mane. Licorice, acrid aroma with leather hints backed up by low carbonation alongside some stone fruit, butter toffee flavours and a surprisingly dry finish.

On tap at Archive Beer Boutique June 2013. Legendary beer from the Feral stable. Squid ink black with a low tan head. Booziness in the mouth with spiced fruit coming through and a burnt bitter aftertaste.

Jet black, dark tan head. Very thick and oily. Loads of molasses and liquorice, bitter roasty dark malt, dark roast coffee and and milk chocolate sweetness. Also some berry notes. Pronounced bitterness and the alcohol to finish. A great one to end a night on, but I would not put this amongst the the greatest imperials around.

Bottle shared at Bruceís, big thanks to Josh for this home product, 16/01/14. Pitch black with a good sized tan head that dissipates to a pond and edgework. Nose carries a lactic ring, treacle toffee, dark chocolate, light smoke. Taste comprises rich chocolate, dark roastings, toffee, molasses. Full bodied, fine carbonation, sweet closure. Ok impy but a little too sweet and lacking depth and balance to be one Iíd want to return to.

Tasting at Bruceís pad. Thanks to Josh. Opaque dark brown beer, tidy pale tan head. Palate is light dry and slightly crisp. Somewhat oxidised tasting chocolate -caramel malt. Light dry finish. Itís fundamentally okay but tastes a bit tired.

Bottle thanks to J-to-the-osh. It pours near black with a small tan head. The nose is roasted malt, dark chocolate, liquorice, coffee, candy and rocky road. The taste is rich roast, liquorice, earth, rocky road, caramel blackcurrant jam and light bitterness. Medium-full body and moderate carbonation. Has a nice jammy element to it. Solid stuff.

Bottle shared in London - thanks, Josh! Pours deep brown with a creamy tan head. The nose has burnt wood, dark chocolate, toasted coconut. Medium sweet flavor, dirty cocoa, good roast, earth. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Light warmth to finish, burnt wood, bitter dark chocolate, leathery berries. Good stuff. Well balanced.
