COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Boris is a jet black colour with an off-white head. The aroma is dark chocolate and coffee. The flavour starts like espresso then fades to a multitude of toasty, roasty and caramel malt flavors. Clean and crisp, full- bodied. Warmth from the high alcohol content lightens up the feel.

Pours opaque black with smallish tan head. Aras of big milk chocolate, tar, pitted fruits, caramel and lightly grassy hops. Full tarry roasty body, sickly sweet fruity christmas cake chocolate coffee flavoured caramel pudding finishing sweet roasty and burnt tiffee

Pours out inky black with a small beige head. Aroma is normal stout, nothing to hint at the higher ABV or more robust taste. Taste brings in some chocolate, roast grains, burnt toast. Very mild, warmth come on late in the game. Not a heavyweight RIS, but a good contender in the middleweight class.

From a 330ml bottle on 30/12.2014. Pours a very dark brown with the barest of heads. Has a pleasant nose featuring lots of roasty notes, along with some toffee and caramel. Itís very complex in the mouth, with oodles of espresso and burnt and roasted malt most prominent. But thereís also lots of sweet and spicy nuance to be found. The roasty bitterness ultimately hold sway over the milk chocolate, fudge and caramel sweetness, but it remains very nicely balanced. The body is quite light for an impy with the carbonation average. Very nice indeed.

(Bottle) Very black with a small tan head. Pleasant but quite restrained aroma - coffee, hints of chocolate, toffee, toast and raisins. Fantastic mouthfeel - full bodied, syrupy, sticky with velvety carbonation with a small prickly hint of brightness to it. Great taste - rich and complex. Thereís a nice balance between toffee sweetness and complex bitterness with hints of black coffee, burnt toast and hops. Very impressive.

Black... small diminishing light brown head, aroma of roasted malts, chocolate and coffee, full bodied, slick with a long lasting bitter aftertaste, excellent representation of an imperial stout

nice dark brown with ruby highlights and small tan head that quickly dissipates. Aromas of mocha, cocoa, caramel and vanilla. Lots of dark chocolate, golden syrup, a little coffee, then quite a bit of hop bitterness, charred meat and slight metallic aftertaste. A bit thinner bodied than I normally like in a RIS, but a pretty good Aussie one.

330mL Near-black body, opaque, holds a small tan head. Aroma quite rich; earthy espresso, chocolate liqueur, charred toast, currants, cooked citrus hops & grass. Body is thick, slick, velvety and oh so luscious. Moderately low carbonation. Delivers a palate packed full of all things dark - bitter cocoa, coffee liqueur, dark plum, cherry & dried fruits, bitter grapefruit rind rind. Firm bitterness on an otherwise smooth finish. Very nice!

Surprisingly a nose of berries gets to you first. Leather on aroma too but this is a pleasant smelling beer. Coffee, licorice and sweetness on tongue. Thick enough. Great it's back. 9.1%. 2.4std dr. 330ml ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Not going to describe the black. Itís black. Medium, off white head. Slight rum aroma, with gentle licorice and some grassy aromas. Gentle but balanced aroma. Nothing really jumps out here, that said, itís the pinnacle of balance. After searching I found some molasses and dark, roasted malts. This beer hides the 9.1abv really well. Dense mouth fell with subtle carbonation, surprisingly dry end with a slight bitterness to finish.

Bottle from Mane. Licorice, acrid aroma with leather hints backed up by low carbonation alongside some stone fruit, butter toffee flavours and a surprisingly dry finish.
