An India pale ale to round off the current selection of Feral pale ales. Hophog is an American-style IPA with strong pine needle and citrus aroma followed by an aggressive bitterness and a dry finish.

Editor’s note: also known as American IPA, back label.

I love this beer. Aroma and taste of fruit punch bowl with the right amount of malt. Not a strong IPA. Very drinkable.

[330ml bottle, courtesy of Sevare] Clear golden beer, with a thin white lacing. Soft, sweet, floral aroma. Grassy on the palate at first, slightly citric and lemony, with an increasingly dry, bitter finish. Good stuff [21062013]

Light effervescent golden orange. One finger white head that fades to a cap. Nose is lovely and tropical, with pineapple, orange, passionfruit and a slight amount of pine. Wow! Beautifully complex flavour. Some tropical fruits on the mid palate with pineapple and passionfruit. This is followed by a refreshing and juicy citrus hop bitterness. The finish is bitter but with some great biscuity and toasted flavours and some more subtle pine and citrus. A really wonderful beer. Go and drink this now.

330ml bottle. The undisputed champion of Australian IPAs, definitely one of my favourites. Won many awards this beer and rightly so. Tastes of fruits with citrus and pine and oh so easy to drink. Great beer.

330ml bottle. Pours an orangey amber colour, foamy off-white head leaving some lacing and aroma of mango, passionfruit, orange hoppy. Taste is juicy tropical fruits & sweet floral orangey citrus nicely balanced against a malt caramel backbone, with some hop resin bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel, medium bodied, medium carbonation, dry bitter finish. Very drinkable IPA.

Draught in Sydney. Probably the best American style IPA brewed in Australia. Robust hop bitterness but not show-offy. Grapefruits, apricots, oranges and pine needles on the nose. Silky smooth biscuity malt backbone. Looks lovely in the glass with dark amber body and frothy off white head.

Bottle. Golden with white head. Resinous aroma with grapefruit. Taste is quite musty, citrus, grapefruit, earthy. Quite bitter. Smells better than it tastes

Blumig hopfiger Antrunk. 11/12/9/10/8/9
