3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours a deep golden amber with dense cream coloured head. Hangs around for a while leaving just a little lacing. Not too bad looking. Big resiny / citrus hop aromas on pour. Tend to disappear somewhat as it warms letting some sweet light caramel show through. Good but was probably expecting just a touch more hop character. Flavours are pretty much along the same lines. There is some sweet malt up front followed by resiny hops near the finish. Not as bitter as I would have thought. Mouthfeel is on the thin side. Carbonation is lively. Not too bad.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
330ml bottle. Pours well and strong floral hop aromas explode from the glass, sweet and aromatic. Mid orange to amber colour with a nutty caramel flavour that is quite strong and hangs around.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
330mL bottle. Pours clear gold with a small and shortlived off-white head that leaves some sparse lace. On pouring there’s a strong hit of resinous and citrusy hop aromas that seem to subside after standing for a few minutes, letting through alcohol and a little malt. Bready and biscuity malt with stale flavour, a little hops and a mild bitterness that is also somewhat harsh, followed by a faint yeast extract like flavour. Not very clean or crisp. Light-medium bodied, pretty soft carbonation, oily and slightly floury with a faint bitterness in the finish.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a clear amber orange with little to no head. Probably under carbonated as well. Nice fruity nose of oranges, grapefruit and perhaps a little other tropical fruit. Nice palate, well balanced, is let down by the lack of creaminess or perhaps even a little sweetness to add to the body (or higher carbonation). Good stuff nonetheless and a great version of a USIPA here in Oz.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Clear golden amber pour with a lasting, fluffy white head. Aroma is hoppy and straightforward with grapefruit, orange and passionfruit notes as well as some pine and caramel. Flavour is much the same but with some additional notes of lemon and herbs. Mouthfeel is smooth and dry with moderate carbonation and a long dry, bitter finish. Quite good, very well made but at the same time it’s kind of by-the-numbers.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Fairly straight forward new world IPA that would appear a bit over-rated in this part of the works. Lots of aromatic and fruity hops across the nose and palate, and quite well done, but feels just a bit one-dimensional. That is, not enought élse’ to back to good hop profile. Still, a good Australian example.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: SEP 8, 2011 Bottle. Light amber with a cm of off-white head. Aroma - sharp pine and grapefruit with nectarines, passionfruit and caramel. Slightly syrupy mouthfeel. Quite sweet before decent bitterness. A lot of light caramel with nectarines and sweet pears. Bitter finish doesn’t last long and doesn’t quite clean up the sweetness. Doesn’t quite live up to the smell. [3.5]
New (to me) green label, smells very fresh. Lovely clean lively aroma is very fruity with stone fruits, tropical notes, grapefruit and pine. Sweet, with ripe nectarines and lots of caramel. Bitterness doesn’t quite clean up. Not quite dry finish with lingering pine and citrus.

I’m going to go out on a limb and say that this is easily the best IPA coming out of Aus. Great pine needle and citrus aroma, balanced malt profile, smooth mouthfeel with a nice dry and bitter finish. Excellent length, the taste of this beer stayed on my palate for a long time after i’d finished it. This has definately raised the bar for Australia IPA. Now available in bottles outside of WA. Great work, awesome beer. Love it.

From bottle 23/09. Great beer, probably my favourite from Australia. Lots of nice pine/citrus notes on the nose. Good depth, lots of flavour. Very good balance and length, bitterness is spot on! This will be my staple summer beer.
