(330ml bottle from BWS Surfers Paradise) Pours clear pale copper with an average white head and no lace. Aroma is pine-forward hops up front with citrus and peach in support, a decently solid malt backbone with light caramel and biscuits. Pretty fresh pine needle and grapefruit peel hop flavours, some floral qualities and a moderately strong malt base with a bit of biscuit and moderate caramel sweetness. Finish is dry with moderate pine resin bitterness. Medium bodied and slightly sticky with average carbonation. Nothing revelatory maybe, but quite a very solid IPA compared to the typical selection at a BWS store.

Ivanhoe Manly. This is decent, nothing more. Basically a replica of the sort of US IPA folk got excited about 15-20 years ago. Hazy amber colour, decent off white head. Hoppy, citrusy aroma. Medium body, with again, a lot of citrus (little bit tropical fruit, some lemon). Quite hoppy as expected and the finish is hops dominated and reasonably dry. Some bitterness, not much maltiness. Pleasant and drinkable and a good go to when faced with Hahn Superdry, but ultimately not a lot going on.

Citrus and pine on the nose, medium body. Nice warming and mild sweetness in the finish. Some nice subtle resiny character left in the mouth. What’d you hope for from a quality session ipa

Bottle. Pours a copper colour with a white head. Aromas of pine and stonefruit really hit me. There is a lovely bitterness with a strong malt backbone. The flavour stays in your mouth well after each sip. Balance is perfect. This is the best Australian IPA I’ve had, a strong household favourite and we can’t wait to try it on tap sometime. Excellent, well done.

330mL bottle, pours a clear copper with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of piney hops upfront backed by biscuity malt. Flavour is very fresh, with loads of fresh piney hops upfront with just enough dry biscuity malt to back. Loads of fresh piney hops dominate this one. Excellent.

330 ml bottle from Grand Central Cellars in Brisbane. Pours with relative little head. Very floral aroma. Taste of citrus and pine. Crisp finish. Overall, a very nice IPA that I would be happy to have again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A great, everyday Aussie pale ale. Nicely balanced hops to malt without overpowering on the IBUs.

Feral... More like ferociously delicious. It's kind of like eating a tropical flower. It's spectacular. I've had a blocked nose since early childhood so I can't smell it but boy oh boy I can taste it. Magnificent! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap, (Grain Store Newcastle, NSW 2013). Lots of passion fruit and slight pine in the aroma, with citrusy hops featuring in both the flavor and aroma. Mineral maltiness and a touch of berries as well. Softer almost medium body. I thought this was really good.

Golden amber with a good pale head. Aroma is sweet citrus peel, toffee, subtle hint of pine and honey. Light-medium bodied, starts slightly sweet on the palate with a great lightly bitter citrusy hop balance. Taste is toffee, candied orange peel, hint of pine. Nice
