COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Feral smoked porter has a very gentle bitterness and combines the classic coffee and chocolate character of the Porter style with a subtle smoked hickory flavour derived from the use of peated distiller’s malt.

the aroma of roasted malt ,and oatmeal, slight smoke aroma, light dark colour of a proper porter, but the let down is the poor texture due to low ABV, taste wise is malty, and tobacco smoke, nice carbonation but I think this beer is a let down compared to the other beers brewed by this brewery!

Bottle (330ml). Opaque dark brown, lasting tan film head. Malty palate, light hop bitterness. Pleasant hickory smoked notes at the very end of the palate and also on the nose. Quite light and sessionable for a Porter. Enjoyable.

bottle from dan murphys in newcastle. dark brown with a shortlived head; surprisingly flat all round - light leathery smoke character but barely lingers, hint of musk; quick, modest bitterness, hints of cocoa; solid but really could use a lot more rauchmalz

Cask at Keg & Brew, Sydney on 15th September 2015. Sepia brown with off-white ring-and-film. Roasty malt aroma, continuing in the liquid stage to be joined by sweet caramel and smoked meat flavours. A subtle sour touch. Roasty finish with sweet, fruity echoes around the mouth before a subtle bitterness begins to emerge. Medium-bodied with a smooth mouthfeel.

Bottle poured into a glass. Thin tan head on a fairly flat dark porter base. A smoky nose with aromas of bacon bits that I found strangely pleasing. Rich malty notes with a hint of coffee ground bitterness an an astringent aftertaste that although not particularly pleasant, had me coming back for more. A really interesting beer worth a try, but not really something you could drink more than a couple of.
