very pale golden color. Light slightly tart mouth, watery and refreshing. Some notes of petrol, medicinal, white grapes. Nice

Growler thanks to MordeciaFunk as part of beeradvocate Aussie BIF. Pours a hazy light golden straw with pinkish tinger. Great aromas of waterman, wheat and light citrus like acidity. Good stuff. Taste is quite tart though not agressively sour. Slightly minerally and very dry on the finish almost reminiscent of champagne. Easily got through the growler. Great beer.

Pours pale straw with a quickly fading head. Sweet watermelon evident in the aroma, kinda like watermelon lollies. Some wheat and a tart character follows. The watermelon note is pretty tempting! More watermelon as a flavour along with the promised tartness. Remains very approachable, nowhere near mouth-puckering. Could use more carbonation. Very refreshing stuff.

Tap at the sail and anchor. Pours a cloudy straw colour. Very light. Nose tonnes of watermelon and zesty lemon. Taste is incredibly sour with a watermelon burst at the back end. Incredible stuff. Very refreshing and funky.

On draught @ Sail & Anchor, Fremantle.
Produced up a pastel, opaque yellow with a whispy head of white. Aroma is sour, hairy, Brettanomyces fuelled (?), fruitful but ill defined, acidic and quite lactic. A strange ride between Greek yoghurt and the white of the watermelon. Sour, tart, mildly hairy with supple citrus, and lactic, yoghurt notes. Spritzy and light but yet full in finish. A flavour of cucumber dominates – question mark. Lemon zest lingers amongst the yeasty yoghurt notes. This is strangely addictive stuff though my notes have very little positives. I liked it. It excites the taste buds. I give it two thumbs up and don’t know why!!

On tap at the brewery, pours clear straw with a slightly acidic aroma with lemon notes. I was so surprised by the flavour in this beer considering it is only 2.9%. The bitterness is replaced by a nice smooth mild sourness with watermelon/lemon notes that all combines to make this super refreshing.

UPDATED: DEC 16, 2012 Tap at Feral. Very unique stuff. Pours a murky lemon curd sort of colour with a small white head which quickly disappears. Nose is light lemon and funk, a touch of hay and loads of watermelon. As you would expect, loads of watermelon in the taste with a refreshing lemon zest and funk coming through which goes well with it. Only light sourness which adds to the sessionability of it. Damn easy drinking, and flows better as you get further through the glass. Great stuff

I’ll begin by saying that for me this is the best beer I’ve tried from Australia. On tap at Atticus/great northern. Pale, cloudy straw coloured in appearance, thin white quickly disapating head. Aroma is lemon citrus and subtle watermelon. Weighing in at 2.7abv, medium fine carbonation, sweet watermelon followed by high acidity, lemon citrus then watermelon again towards the back palate and long lingering clean and crisp lemon citrus finish. The layers and length of this beer is mind blowing. Extremely sessionable, destroys hangovers. It’s perfection. I heard a rumor that these guys are going to be bringing out a few more sour beers in the near future. Incredible stuff.

Tried on tap at the Great Northern. Lemon coloured body, sour aroma, with the watermelon only subtle on the front and back of the palate, sour lollies the other taste. Refreshing and a good start to the morning.
