COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our White Beer is produced in the true Belgian style with 50 percent barley and 50 percent wheat and an imported Belgium yeast strain. The beer is left unfiltered and deliberately cloudy so as to allow the yeast characteristics to dominate. Coriander and orange peel are added during the boil to contribute a spicy citrus flavor. Silver Medal 2003 Australian International Beer Awards.

Note: The bottled version is brewed and bottled by AIB.

wheaty citrus aromas, cloudy straw with abundant head, wheat tartness, lingering well balanced bitterness with a little hop character and slight floral taste. highly carbonated.

Very evident sulphur. Vanilla tastes clove extract from "rosemary". Not bad on later swigs but a bit lame and not really getting there: some guy drank hoegarden white and made this which was lamer.

UPDATED: NOV 17, 2005 Cloudy pale straw colour with a very short and non lasting head. Very slight taste of bananas and some cloves. Fairly good texture and drinks ok for a summers day. Re-Rate 17/11/05 Bottled. Very light orange and coriander in the taste and just needs a bit more guts.

This looked the goods. A reasonable nose with cloves and citrus. Spicy citrus body but seems to be lacking something. Not bad, but needs some work.

Nose is eggy and sulfuric. Lemony, softly tart sweet start. With a spicy, clovey, lightly fizzy crisp finish. I don't know, it was a touch wishy washy, and definitely sulfuric. Seems like every Aussie micro is doing a witbier these days, trouble is, i'm yet to come across a really good one. This is at least half decent.
