Pours a very nice clear dark brown, sustained head, medium lacing. Somewhat thin-bodied and light. Smell has some woods/forest in addition to the usual caramel and cola. Flavors are moderately sweet (brown sugar) and light-to-moderate bitterness (grass). When cold, this is a very nice example of a mid-sweetness dunkel; not your overdone watery cola nut or waaay to sweet caramel variety. Balanced. Better than the sum of the parts and worth a revisit if better dunkels aren’t around. Bottle, very fresh as always from Piwoteka.

Brown, red appearance. No head. Roasted a bit, quite sticky finish with strong notes of malts and sweetness.

Sweet malt, caramel and mild roasted nuts in the aroma. Brown with hints of dark amber. Small head. Sweet caramel malt from fore to finish. Caramel and even some chocolate notes. Very one dimensional, but also smooth and comforting.

29/10 0.5 l bottle courtesy of Doggythedog, thanks for sharing! It poured darker reddish brown body with medium sized beige head. Quite ordinary caramel and coffee aroma. Flavor was balanced between sweetish caramel and coffee roasted malts. Pretty simple and none of those two is too prominent. Thinner to medium body, still it had quite short, slightly caramel finish. Some herbal hops might be emerging here, as well. Didn’t particularly like it as of ts simplicity and lack of stronger character, but it’s a decent brew for sure.

Bottle: Clear red/brown colour, nice head. Aroma of raisins,lots of malts, caramel,dry hopy nose.
Flavor is almost the same, werry sweet smouth malty mouth feeling.Thin body, sweet malty/sweet finish.

Rating for "Ferdinand Dark Beer". Label slightly different than pictured with a white background at the bottom. ABV was 4.5%, as stated.
Best before 29/03/05, consumed on 01/04/05... damn! Bottle poured a deep, ruby red body with a small tan head. Sweet, bready malt aroma that was a little juicy. Flavor went from sweet to sour, then finished sweet again. Not many discernable flavors.

Red brown colour with a off-white head. Light roasted malty coffee aroma and taste. Medium body and a light sweet finish. Palate is nice and solid, and the beers last impression is a dry bitterness.

Red apple in color. Full foaming cream. Sweet roast and chocolate aromas, with hints of raisin and dust. Quite nice. Sweet malts and caramel with a hint of banana in the flavor. Not bad really, for a beer like this.

Keg at Ferdinanda. Pours dark Brown with a ruby hue and a tan head. Wonderful flavours of coffee and caramel. Dry finish. Excellent Tmavy.
