3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20From a growler I picked up at the brewpub. My glass was mostly off white foam that left plenty of lacing. The beer beneath it was clear light brown with some gold. This smells Belgian with that classic yeast profile with pleasing fruit aromas. The flavor, however, offers more in the way of hops and less yeast. It comes off as being more sour than tart. The Pale Ale fruit tends to surpass the Belgian influences. It would be wonderful if they could both. So, ok, after most of a growler is gone I find this tasty if short of amazing. The sourness dominated and the fruit was more citrus than Belgian yeast. It was a nice beer but nothing more.

Sampled at Four Hands Lupulin Carnival 2012 - Pours amber with an off-white head. The aroma has fruity Belgian yeast and spicy / grapefruit hops. It has a medium rich body with some light carbonation. The flavor starts with abrasive earthy piny hops that have a pine cone sort of thing. The finish is quite resiny. Nicely done.

On tap at the Brewhouse. I Believe the correct name is "Belgomerican Pale Ale". Served an amber color with a white head that faded slowly to good lacing. Aroma of citrus, roasted malt with a bit of grain and hint of yeast. Taste started with a nip from the citrus with some caramel malt and a trace of bread. Nice bitterness and a clean finish. Medium body, quite smooth and well balanced. Nice change of pace beer from the Brewhouse. Worth a try.
