A classic style beer, both refreshing and complex. Bitter orange peels and coriander are added near the end of the boil to give this ale a crisp yet zesty citrus flavor. 50% Wheat and 50% Barley make up the rest of the recipe giving an overall impression of a refreshingly elegant wheaty beer.

Tap @ Ferguson. Pours a fairly clear yellow appearance with a white head. Somewhat spicy, herbal, potpourri, slight urinal cake aroma. Herbal hoppy bitter, slightly spicy, dull wheat flavor. Not horrendous but not great either.

4 oz sampler at Ferguson. Pours a clear yellow color with white head. Coriander, orange peel, wheat flavors. Not bad, but doesn’t quite match the style exactly.

UPDATED: APR 23, 2012 No head. Strong coriander and light orange peal. Very cloudy and white. This is what blue moon wishes they were.

Tasted on tap at the brewpub. Appeared a light golden color with chill haze and moderate white head, somewhat lasting with good lace. Aromas of grain, mildly spicy wheat, some pepper, clove, tart citrus, distant flowery hops. Flavor typical of Witbier, but somewhat watered down. Light body, thin mouthfeel, dry finish. Mostly true-to-style, I suppose, but boring.

It poured a cloudy yellow color with a white head. The aroma was almost non existant, mainly light wheaty grain notes and light citrus. The flavor was more appealing than aroma, decent amount of lemony fruitiness and some belgian yeast character.

On Tap at the Ferguson brewhouse. Served a hazy golden color with a nice white head and some lacing. Has a clean aroma with a pleasant touch of citrus. Has and initial taste of mild citrus and a trace of sweetness. There is a light grain texture with a crisp dry finish. A fairly light body, smooth as somewhat creamy. Nice balance. Although Wit Beers are not my favorite this was an enjoyable change. The brew house serves the beer without any slice of fruit to mask the taste which is good for a few points. Worth a try on a hot summer day.

Pours clear light yellow with a white head. The aroma has lots of coriander, some tart orange peel and crisp clean wheat. Nice. Medium / light body that’s crisp and a bit tinny with flowing sharp carbonation. The flavor starts with very tart orange, snappy wheat, light spice, light minerals and spicy hops. The finish is sharp, dry and citrusy. Good beer.

On draft at the brewpub. This beer poured lightly hazy gold with a white head. Aroma was cereal, fruit, and wheat notes. Flavor is similar with some spice and soft fruit. A pleasant creamy feel. Nothing big here but a nice starter beer.

Tasted 4/25/10. Sample from the brewpub. Hazy, but not as hazy as teh Hefe. Pale golden hue with a trace ring of white head. Aroams of orange citrus and faint cereal grains. Medium bodied with a pronounced orange citrus brightness. Very fruit forward. Nice crisp effervescence that melds well with the citrus astringency. Touch candy. Solid and a spot on representation. No need for an orange slice in this one. Well crafted!
