Light amber. Below average Ipa. Poor balance between hops and malt. Pretty disappointing.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Served a nice copper color with a decent head that faded to nice lacing. Aroma is a mixture of citrus and pine with a hint of grain. Flavor is a nice tart citrus with a bit of sweetness and a nice bitterness and a clean finish.
Medium body, crisp and refreshing. Has a nice balance, not overpowering like some IPAs. very enjoyable not overly hopped. Goes good with a meal or by itself.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft sample at St. Louis Brewers Heritage Festival 2011. Pours a clear amber-gold color with a small eggshell white head. Aroma of grassy hops, pale malts, straw, and butterscotch. Flavor of grassy and floral hops, pale and caramel malts, straw, and light citrus peel. Light-bodied, with average carbonation. This IPA comes across more like an APA.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours amber/copper with a moderate sized off-white head. The aroma is a bit faint with some hops, caramel malt and a hint of butter. Medium body with some semi-sharp carbonation. The flavor starts out with lots of roasty malt, some diacetyl, dry caramel, spicy/earthy hops and some astringency. The finish is a bit soapy and has some piny hops added to the taste. Okay, but it is not nearly hop forward enough for me.

Tasted from a sampler. Poured clear copper color with an average white frothy head. Moderate citrus hop aroma. Medium body and medium bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Drinkable brew that met my expectations.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tasted 7/18/10. Growler from the Brewpub. Filtered and very dark for it’s style. Off-white head. Aromas of dark, rustic breads and piney hops. On the lighter side of full bodied and very bitter. Dark, resinous, sticky hops. The hops abound, with the toasty, caramel malts taking a backseat. Good body and wonderful drinkability (three of us and the growler was empty in 30 minutes). Good finish and definitely my favorite of the bunch! Solid and a staple when visiting the family!

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Draft pint at the brewpub. Mahogoney brown, an unexpected visual. No head. Malty aroma. Rich caramel malt foundation topped with an almost tart citric bite. More ESB like to me but drinkable. (#3937, 7/3/2010)

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
As dark as any IPA I have seen. Very dark brown, only a few shades lighter than a porter. A small blotchy head. Nose is caramel and floral and is not huge but is pleasant. Flavor begins with hops that have a bit of a bite to them. Tart citrus and floral hops. There is some caramel underneath and light biscuit. Finish offered some roasted malt. Distinctive by its appearance and a nice mix of hops. Well done.
