COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Six different malts are used to create this Irish red ale. The caramel and biscuit flavors really come out in the aroma and taste. The hop presence is there, but definitely take a back seat to these soft flavors. Coming out perfectly balanced, a great middle of the road beer.

Draft on tap at the brewery (Florissant, MO). Pours a nice mellow hazed copper hue. A bit of darker copper glow on the edges is alluring, frothy offwhite head sits as a decent ring, film laces ok overall. Aromas are a bit toasty, gentle caramel and earthy malts. Touches of floor malts, biscuits and crusty bread. Some amber malt flashes. Initial lighter end of medium bodied, some toast, carmelized malts and biscuits. A bit bready. Some gentle touches of red fruit, faint spice. Middle is a bit sweet, buttery and off for me. This beer falls off a bit. Some decent carmelized elements, touches of toast with a mellow red fruit slant at times. Backend is a bit more dry, still has largely lost me with that buttery hit. A bit odd, sweet. Some touches of dryness, toast and touches of earth as we finish. Not my thing.

Sampled from the tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear amber with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has notes of sweet grains with a touch of caramel and biscuit. Flavor has a similar profile with sweet grains and caramel throughout.

3oz on tap at the brewpub, during my stay in STL for RBSG. Clear amber color. Khaki head. Good dots and ropes of lace. Good chocolate, light caramel malt aromas. Light spicy, good toastiness. Some decent earthy bittering hop. Medium to bigger body. Smooth, kind of soft, lighter carbonation. More dry finish. Moderate sweet taste, light bitter, light spice. Pretty solid, tasty full-bodied Irish ale. I enjoyed this one much more than expected. The creamy house character and malt bill work well with the style. For a style I typically hate... Impressive.

Draft at Friendly’s, served in a pint glass. Pours a clear reddish amber with a finger of off-white head that lasts quite a while. Really nice malt profile; toasty, amber, biscuit - nuts, spiced crackers, and grass. Light-bodied, with a malty mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Well-done Irish ale.

This draft brew from the brewery poured a head of foamy fine to medium sized off-white colored bubbles that were mostly diminishing and left behind a softly carbonated hazy light red brown colored body. The mild aroma was Irish Red malty. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a lingering hoppy aftertaste. The flavor contained notes of Irish red malt crisp and hops. A decent one that I would consider drinking again.

Dark red. No head....Do any ferguson beers have head. Malty. Tastes somewhat like extract.

On Tap- Served a deep amber color with a small head that faded quickly and only traces of lacing. Has an enticing aroma of roasted malt, with a bit of caramel and a hint of grain. Has the taste of roasted malt, bit of caramel sweetness, no real bitterness and a dry finish. Light body, quite clean and smooth. decent balance but was hoping for a bit more. Decent beer for the style, but nothing special. This beer has been recently relegated to a seasonal/special offering.

Pint at the brewpub. A nice red brown color with a head that soon became blotches. The nose was toasty malt and that was also tasted. Hops were, as well. As an Irish Ale this was a strike right down the middle. The freshness of the hops was a bonus. A nicely done Irish.

Tasted from a sampler. Pours a clear dark amber color with a thin beige head. Aroma of toasted malt, caramel and hops in the nose. Light-to-medium-bodied and sweet with flavors of caramel and malt, as well as some mild hops. The finish is short and sweet with just a little malt left over. Not a bad ale.

Tasted 6/13/10. Growler from the brewpub. Filtered with an amber hue. Lacing finger width of off-white head. Aromas of bready toasty malts with a touch caramel sweetness. Medium bodied with a dry body. Toasty malts. Crisp effervescence and very fresh! Mildly grassy hops round out the palate and shine in the finish. Great balance and drinking. Well crafted and super fresh!
