COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Just in time for the holiday season, this amber lager is brewed with honey giving added crispness and sweetness to this brew. Other holiday spices are added in the last stages of fermentation making it perfect for this time of year. Low hop bitterness with a medium malt body.

Draft sample in a sampler tray at the brewpub. Pours a darkish amber-gold color with a small dull white head. The aroma is pretty faint, but some pale malts, grains, dust, and sugar are present. The flavor picks up a bit, starting with butterscotch, along with notes of caramel malts, peppery and earthy spices, and cereal grains. Light-medium bodied, with crisp carbonation and a malty mouthfeel. I’m not sure if I would call this a pale lager, as there is pretty much going on here that leads me to believe it may have been spiced in some way. But anyway, it’s a nice lager with some impressive body.

Pours clear copper with a very small wispy head. The aroma has diacetyl, toasty malt, toffee and some spices - the butteriness overwhelms. Medium smooth body with subdued carbonation. The flavor starts out with an odd candy sweetness, caramel, diacetyl (less than the aroma), light berries, pepper and some spices. The finish has more spice and a strange lemon note.

Tasted 2/13/11. Growler from the Brewpub. Filtered with a dark amber hue. Clinging off-white bubbled head. Aromas of cereal grains and caramel. Medium bodied with a nice toasty quality. Nice bitterness in the finish. Subtle berry esters and a slight buttery note. Toasty malts with a good amount of caramel sweetness to off set the hoppy finish.

Pint at the brewpub. Pour is dark copper with a thin layer of light colored foam that became blotchy. Aroma and flavor were malty and rich. Some grain. Quite nice, actually.
