750ml bottle (Põrgu, Tallinn)
Slightly mealy pear aroma. Some strange gluey walpaper paste too. Pale, but quite dark for a pear cidre, clear, and definitely frisson. Taste fuller and sweater than the aroma, more apple and peary esters. Still a bit mealy in places. Crisp and refreshing in the mouth, with a nice sharp tartness that hacks through the fattiness of the ribs I just ate beatifully. Finish preserves the best parts of the taste, the tartness and sweet fruity esters. Perhaps not intrinsically great, but at 2.5% this is lush, and a perfect complement to fatty and spicy food.

750 ml green "champagne" bottle (a gift), as Fournier Frères Poiré. ABV is 2.5%. Very pale straw coloured, pours very fizzy with a large white head that soon disappears completely. Moderate aroma of sweet pears and drier perry pear varieties. The flavour is sweet and very fruity, pears of course, but also notes of sweet apples. A hint of oak and sulphites in the finish. Quite refreshing when cold.

Bottled at RBESG 2008. A light golden perry with no head. The aroma has notes of sweet pears. The flavor is sweet with notes of pear, leading to a lightly dry finish.

Clear watery with tiny white head. Sweet with perry and phenolic notes. Mild tart finish.

Pale yellow with no head. Aroma has pear juice and a touch of wood. Sweet juicy flavour with a tiny tart note.

6/29/08) Bottle sample at RBESG08 grand tasting in Plzen. Aroma of some pears and some metal. Flavor of pears, some metal and some melted plastic notes. Light-bodied.

(Bottle 75 cl) Pours a clear very pale golden with a bubbly and dissipating white head. Lightly tart nose. Light in body with a heavy carbonation and lightly tart pear accents. Discreet acidity in the finish. 290608

Pours pale, almost transparent water. No head. Aroma has sweet pear with slight apple notes. Okay carbonation. Flavour has sour, tart pear, but no really in a good way... Not impressive.

Bottled at RBESG. Pale yellow, no head. estery winegum-like pear aroma. Sweet and juicy. Fresh but a bit candyish fruit flavour. Lightly citric with quite some carbonation.
