3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours honey brown with thick white head good lacing.
Aroma is citrus and pine hops. Smells sweet.
First sip is creamy citrus fruit and very smooth. Very little bitter or booze.
Aftertaste is sweet hop juice. Much like hop stoopid Very tastey and very easy to drink. Bravo.
Lots of creaminess.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Can in B.C.: Underwhelming IPA with some unfortunate flavors. It definitely has a malt-forward / yeasty, British-style slant; but even if it were touted as an English-style IPA, it wouldn’t be a good interpretation. Hops are muted, herbal, earthy and musty. Malts are muddled and clunky. Apple-like fruitiness surfaces here and there. Vegetal bitterness lingers in the aftertaste. Appearance was decent (color, clarity, head and lace). Mouthfeel was a bit cloying, but not bothersome. Definitely not my cup of beer.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Thanks to Reimer for this. Pours clear copper with a small white top. Aroma is light caramel malts with earthy pine hops. Taste is a nice swell of pine hops with a nicely balanced caramel malts. Easy drinking, would be in my rotation of regular offerings in my fridge is it was available around me.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Appearance: clear pale amber with three fingers of rocky ivory head, good retention and moderate patchy lacing. (4/5) Aroma: pine, citrus, caramel malt. (6/10) Taste: moderate sweet, moderate bitter. (6/10) Palate: medium body, moderate carbonation, moderate duration bitter finish. (3/5)
Fairly standard A/IPA - it’s not bad, but the hops could stand to be brighter. I’d like to try this fresh on tap some time, but in bottles there are better options at similar pricing. (12/20)

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Textbook fruity-hop IPA. A basic pub staple. Not the seasonal, special or extreme but the steady companion. She could use a little more perfume, aroma hops.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a slightly hazy copper with a medium sized white head that doesn’t last too long but leaves a decent amount of lace on that glass. Aroma is caramel malt, pine and grapefruit(i remember this being much fuller of an Aroma on tap, maybe this is an old bottle). Flavour is is pine, resin, some grapefruit, sweet pale malts, caramel notes and a moderately dry finish. Overall I remember loving the Keg I got of this but this bottle isn’t quite up to where the fresh Keg was.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
355 ml can from Fernie’s twelve-pack sampler, served in a dual-level flute glass. Pours a handsomely clear, bright orange-tinged amber, lightly carbonated, with a bone-white meringue head and bubbly lace islands. Nose is primarily fresh, citrusy hops; grapefruit, lime, and lemon in abundance. The flavor pulls back just a little, so the citrus is well-presented without being jarring or prickly-piney, and an additional bit of sweetness rounds the edges off the sour snap very nicely. Body is thin, but the finish is clean and lightly dry. One of my favorite pale ales to date - very well-made (here in Canada!) and eminently drinkable and enjoyable. I have yet to encounter a dud brew from Fernie, and I hope their great track record remains solid.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Amber pour with a soapy white head. Malty aroma, caramel and biscuit with just some light hops. Flavour is light and thin, mostly malty with just a little hops. Not bad but disappointing when expecting a proper IPA.

2.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
ENG: 650ml bottle from Liquor Mart Winnipeg, poured into the tulip. Golden color with medium tan head, some lacing. Skunky aromas (or maybe that is rotten egg) with bubblegum / candy... Some pine too but far in the background. Taste is very mild, slightly bitter, slightly sour with a hint of booze. Some light pine here too and maybe herbs. Slightly hoppy bitter aftertaste. Very light body with low to medium carbonation. Beer is very drinkable, but 6.5% is not that much anyways. As for an IPA I would say this one is too balanced, and it’s too low in overall every aspect. Not very suitable for hopheads, but in other hand it can be a good as a refresher. In my opinion tho, there’s not much what connects it to IPA style. ///~~~///~~~/// ///~~~///~~~/// ////~~~///~~~//// ////~~~////~~~//// ////~~~///~~~//// ///~~~///~~~/// ///~~~///~~~/// PL: Butelka 650ml kupiona w Liquor Mart w Winnipeg, przelana do kieliszka. Złocista barwa ze średnią jasną pianą, nieco lejsingu. Aromaty skunksa (a może to zgniłe jajko?), guma do żucia zmieszana z cukierkami, a gdzieś daleko w tle sosna. W smaku dość łagodne, lekko goryczkowe, lekko kwaśne, nieco alkoholowego booza. Tutaj też sosna i zioła, ale znów jakby w tle. Nieco chmielowo-goryczkowy posmak.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
355 ml can poured at home. Hazy amber in color with a medium head. Nice hop smell and bitter aftertaste. I drank this after a Big Rock IPA and thought it was a much better homage to the genre. Thoroughly drinkable!
