Bottle from Boundary Crossing Liquor, Vancouver
Hazy amber color with small head. The aroma has some plastic/rubber, phenol, candies. Good body strength, lean mouthfeel, actually a bit alcoholic; simple malt profile, with some cereals, caramel, moderate peppery/spicy character, strong bitterness, but just light hop qualities, although it’s a bit fruity and resiny; hints of liquorice.
Not bad, but simplistic.

Hazy light tan. Very thin bubbly head. Aroma has lots of bubblegummy aromas but the taste is quite a bit more convoluted. Sweet, bitter...not coming together. Phenols are random, esters, too. None of this makes sense, it’s just a bunch of stuff in a glass.

Nicely balanced with Belgian candy sweetness in addition to the bitter hops. Enjoyable.

Bomber. Clear medium copper, thinner fading off-white foam. Aroma is fruity, caramel yeasty. Bitter Belgian yeasty PNW hopped hybrid, sweeter caramel malts as it warms, verging on cloying yet oddly drinkable. Softer than average carbonation, medium bodied, more aggressively hopped. DNFL (Definitely Not For Lagerboys)

Bottle, shared with Parksy at 5am during the Canada vs. Sweden gold medal hockey game. Hazy orange with an average white head that leaves lace early on. Sweet marmalade, a little peachy, with solid bitterness. A decent IPA, perhaps on the sweet side, but lacking any yeasty signature to truly peg this as Belgian.

650ml bottle pours a lighter amber color with a finger and a half of white head that dissipates fairly quickly and leaves some spotty but nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is yeasty with some mild citrus and earthy notes. Taste is a light citrus and earthy bitterness with an underlying caramel malty sweetness finishing dry and yeasty. Definitely has some Belgian characteristics with the noticeable yeast presence. A pretty well done IPA that is worth tasting.

Hazy dark orange with a slow building head. Light hop scent. Malt is a bit thick and sticky so the Belgian qualities do not come through as sharp as I would like. Comes across more as a moderately hopped DIPA.

Beautiful golden apricot pour, some white head that fades and leaves tinny little bubbles floating around my glass. Aroma - tropical fruit, citrus, pine smells like a nice IPA. Taste - nice hop presence, very bitter, some light Belgian triple notes, lemon and a dry finish. Not bad. But is it bad luck that I am drinking a BC beer whilst watching the Oil play the knuckle heads...well Bryz just stopped Higgins on a breakaway, that’s something I guess.

650ml brown bottle. Golden brew with light haze. White head with messy lacing. Nose has a bit of earth, grains, yeast. Taste has light spices, grains, dough, herbal hops and grassy hops. Medium bitterness, aftertaste is spicy and with a pleasant herbal and grassy bitterness. Overall, pretty good.
