Ambrée pale avec une très petite mousse blanche. Carbonation moyenne, Un goût de malt qui est un peu fruitée, mais je ne trouve pas d’airelle. C’est ok pour une bièrre d’été.
2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 CrookedNine (6) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - APR 22, 2013 does not count
Mild wheat beer. Didn’t taste the fruit much and I couldn’t get any on the nose. It may have been too cold when I cracked it open. Somewhat tart but enjoyable. An average wheat beer.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 RyanE (98) - British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 30, 2012
Murky pink hue, frothy white head. Aromas of huckleberry and hints of straw. Meduim body and oily with flavors of sweet fruit. Slightly bitter finish.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 fiulijn (12179) - Malmö, DENMARK - AUG 16, 2012
Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver Cloudy light amber color with some copper hue; creamy head. Simple aroma, some yeast. Smooth mouthfeel; some malt flavor, bread, yeast, and then very light fruity touch. I’m happy that the fruit is not so evident, still it’s a simple beer.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 reebtogi (3259) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - JUL 10, 2012
650ml bottle pours a pale amber color with a small white head that leaves very little lacing on the glass. Mild aroma of berries dominate with some cereal grains and mild hops. Taste is light malty sweetness with some mild hops and the fruit (huckleberries) is in the mix. Light bodied with modest carbonation. Overall, thin and lacking some body and just not what it could be.
2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 WheatKing (698) - Oak Bay, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 10, 2012
I expected to dislike this, and am pleasantly surprised. I just had their wit a few days ago, which I thought was lacking in flavour, and am having a sense of deja vu right now if you know what I mean... but the fruit does really well. The head is far from cash but the level of carbonation chosen goes really well with the huckleberry. I like the colour. The smell is the fruit more than anything, and I don’t think they use extract here it seems real to me. If you like Lindemans Kriek and Framboise, you’ll find this one pretty good (not that it’s anything like a lambic). If you don’t you’ll probably hate it. This beer is not a gimmick.
UPDATE: This is getting harder and harder to drink the further I get through the bomber and the fruit tastes like fusel alcohols so I’m knocking it down from 3.1 to 2.5. Sorry about that! I should wait until I’m finished a beer before writing a review. I guess if you want to drink this, get a small bottle and drink it ice cold!
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Lagerboy (663) - British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 26, 2012
Murky deep amber with a purplish hue, wispy fizzy off white head. Fruity berry wit aroma. Tart sweet berry taste dominates, like it’s been infused ’wit’ fruit juice. Finishes thin and tart. LF (Lagerboy Friendly)
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 Oakes (10935) - Savusavu, FIJI ISLANDS - FEB 11, 2012
Amber, hazy and the light shines through it with some berry colour. The aroma is lightly fruity. Fruity, jammy palate is quite bland, with a little bit too much yeast and doughy malts to really be refreshing.
2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Lanchester (175) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 24, 2011
Pours a reddish hue topped with a quickly diminishing off-white head. Unusual aroma, picking up a little berry character, though there is a metallic and artificial undertone that isn’t inviting. Fortunately, this doesn’t seem to carry into the taste; pronounced wheat presence throughout, with slight tart notes poking through on occasion. Low carbonation, feels quite thin on the palate. Not bad, though there are improvements to be made.
