Not too much bad you can say bad about this beer. This one is full of coffee. Aroma, taste, and greatness. This brew is smooth and nice.

On tap, poured into a snifter. The aroma is coffee beans and fresh brewed coffee at once, with undertones of nuts, toffee, and sweet dark fruit. The beer is dark and just about opaque with a deep, molasses brown hue. The head is tan and dense - gelatin thick - and retains a thick ring, a good wispy surface, and it leaves a good, messy lace. The beer is a medium high coffee bitter, mostly at the tail end, with a medium caramel sweetness upfront. It’s creamy with a smooth, fuzzy carbonation. The full body holds characters of a sweet coffee with raisin notes, a light, dark chocolate touch, and a nut character. The finish is smooth with dark chocolate, raisin, and coffee. The aftertaste is dry and clean with a bit of coffee grounds and some raisin left behind.

It’s just like drinking coffee/espresso. I like coffee, so I could drink this one all day with no problem, but it doesn’t really feel like a beer.

Draft: exactly what you’d expect... A nice stout with some wonderful coffee flavors. Roasty and smooth, it’s wonderful, but nothing to get excited about.

Taster at the brewery - nose is dark coffee. Sip adds more coffee. Appropriate name. Dark chocolate bitterness. Intense flavor with weaker body.

I believe my first try from Fifty West Brewing. A very creamy and smooth experience--slightly herbaceous, but pleasant. Good first impression. On tap @ Dewey’s Pizza.

@ 50 West / Cincinnati --- Opaque black-brown, tan head that sinks to the rim, thin streaks of lace. Taste is toasted malt with just enough black coffee to justify the name; However, on the swallow, it is nothing but pure, rich tasting stout. This one is a cut above, an exceptional example of the style. Highly recommended.
