Traditional German Pilsner with a strong bittering. This lager is crisp and clean with a perfume-like scent. A great summer lager!

@ 50 West / Cincinnati --- Clear straw color with a 1" head that settles quickly to the rim, check marks of lace. Taste is clean edgy malt that adds floral hops in a cleansing finish. Unpretentious, straightforward, but, nonetheless, a good example of the style.

Sample at the brewpub. Slightly hazed pale orange color with a medium bone white head that dissipates gradually to a film. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Grassy hops and malt in the nose. Light-bodied with flavors of herbal hops, malt and a touch of earthy yeast. The finish is mildly bitter with a grassy hops aftertaste. Decent all around.

Draft at the brewpub. Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a medium sized white head. The aroma and flavor have pale malts, pilsner malt, grassy, light floral and mild herbal hops. Pretty basic, but clean pils.

Draft pour at the source. Pours a semi-hazy gold with a white head of foam. The aroma is grainy and herbal. Tastes the same. Lighter body.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear light orange with a small white head. Aroma of light fruits, pale malts, jam. Flavor of light pale malts, breaded malt, sweet fruit. Simple but solid pilsener. Very plain in flavor but palate holds up the beer. 7/4/7/4/14 (3.6/5)

Draft. Poured a clear amber color with an average frothy white head that was lasting and produced excellent lacing. Good moderate hop and malt aroma. Medium body with a dry texture and soft carbonation. Moderate bittersweet flavor with with a moderate bittersweet finish of moderate duration. This is a solid beer and good for style.

Pint on tap at the brewpub. Mostly clear golden yellow color. Thin white head, plenty bits of lace. Medium body. Smooth, crisp, lighter carbonation. Great bready, lightly peppery flavor. Clean pilsnery malt. Moderate sweet taste, a little more sweet than your typical pils, but I don’t mind it. Mild bitterness. Light bit of spiciness. Light hint of citrus. Very satisfying, easy drinking pilsener.

Draft sample. Pours a somewhat cloudy gold with a small white head that leaves spots of lace. Plenty of pils malts on display here, with some minor grassy hops. Mostly dry and sweet maltiness, though. Light-bodied, with moderate carbonation. Dry, malty, and nice. Satisfying summer beer.

Draft to taster at Fifty West. Looks good for the style; a very slightly hazy gold with thin white head that dissipates into lacing. Smells slightly doughy and hoppy. Tastes like it smells, only better, with more of a hop presence. Solid on the palate, but could be a little snappier for a pils. Still, an enjoyable pils.
