4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 aspidites (1272) - manteca, California, USA - MAY 15, 2008WOW, I have not been this impressed with an Impy for quite some time. Dark chocolate, toasted oak, coffee and caramel nose. Clean and decadently rich on the palate with an almost delicate mouthfeel. Very complex and rounded with flavors that compliment each other from beginning to ever so wonderful lingering end. Todd may be Flossmoor’s loss but he is definitely our gain.

2012 bottle from Draknole. Deep black pour with a mocha brown head. Aroma hits you as you pour- roasted malt and bourbon. Taste is creamy delisciousness, roasted malt side by side with the bourbon. Sweet, black patent bitterness. Chewy beer. Nice lacing and the beer clings to the side of the glass.

Bomber to snifter (2012 vintage; shared with the Mrs.). Looks good; a fairly opaque dark cola with beige lacing. Smells good too; bourbon, vanilla, and dark malt with a sweet backbone. Tastes like it smells with a nice, smooth mouthfeel. Good stuff!

4/11/13. Bomber. Tasted side by side with 4 other Eclipses. Krunk. Black pour with a nice tan head. Forward whiskey aroma for sure, boozey and strong, not as subtle or mellow as the others. Rich strong forward whiskey flavor as well, boozey, almost a bit much. Perhaps my least favorite along with the corn.

Bottle... This beer rocks!… Hazy dark brown ale with a small, creamy, fleeting, khaki head. The nose furnishes notes of bourbon, caramel, chocolate and leather. Medium to full-bodied with a watery mouthfeel and subdued carbonation. The flavor is an excellent merger of bourbon, deep-roast malt, fudge and moderate sweetness. Finishes bourbony-hot and comforting. World class beer shared by a world class dude, landhoney!
