A deep dark stout with a thin brown head. In aroma, nice bitter chocolate with good coffee notes, herbal hops, burned malt, alcohol warmth, very nice. In mouth, so smooth, well balanced, sweet chocolate malt with caramel, coffee, bourbon, very nice. Xmas Ottawa gathering Dec 13 2013.

2012 Bottle. Pitch black pour, a baby finger of head. Bourbon and roast on the nose. Barrel is integrated well here, bourbon, vanilla, dark chocolate, roast, coffee. Very smooth, not overly boozy and no alcohol burn. Full body with lighter carbonation.

UPDATED: OCT 2, 2013 22 oz bottle. BR 1, 2012 bottle. Opened in honor of the Breaking Bad finale. Pours pitch black with a small frothy head that fades to a ring. Great aroma of musty oak, vanilla, chocolate, caramel, toffee, tobacco, and molasses. Taste is moderately sweet and boozy. Lots of bourbon barrel flavor but it’s not harsh at all. Chocolate and caramel come through nicely, especially in the finish. Medium to thick body. This is a really good, smooth, boozy sipper. Nice balance in flavors.

Bottle pours brown black with thin tan head. Aroma bourbon, roast, malts. Taste follows with malts, roast, a little coffee and chocolate, slight oak. Finish mild roast and oak, bourbon. Palate a bit thin, nice alcohol burn, slight carbonation. Very nice, a little fuller palate would have pushed it higher.

One of the more complex stouts, notes of roasted coffee, honey, and burbon. Has some burn for a stout. If this wasn’t $30 a pint and didn’t smell like piss it would be near the top of my list.

Amazing stout with a touch of honey and a Burbon finish. One of the best stouts I?ve ever drank.

Bottle shared a GBBF ’13, 13/08/13, massive thanks to Joris for the pour. Mid black with a thin tan head. Nose is bourbon, oak, honey, dark roast, chocolate. Taste comprises dark roast, booze soaked wood, chocolate, dark fruit tones, bourbon, sugars, molasses. Full bodied, smooth on the palate massages the throat, fine carbonation. Good stuff indeed !
