Pours a solid black with a tan head. Smells of sweet bourbon and black cherries. Bourbon flavoring is prominent with slight vanilla extract taste and a nice booziness. Finishes with warmth in my mouth and throat. Very nice BBA Stout. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

2013 Bottle at home. Shared with @Meilby. Thanks!!! (! one more since it was completely excellent). - Poured black with a fair brown head. Medium bubbles. Nose is full of oak cask, chocolate, whiskey, pepper and coffee. Drinks slightly oily with a black tea finish. Tastes cherry sweet with a balanced bitterness. Top 10 beer for sure!

2014 bottle poured into a tulip glass. Black pour with a small tan head that quickly dissipates to slight lacing. Nose is bourbon and charred oak, taste is very smooth with the alcohol being well hidden. A little disappointed in this one compared to the other variations I’ve tried...but still a great BA stout.

22, capped and waxed. Pours jet black with a loose and creamy dark tan head. Big roasty sweet nose, great combination of dark malty notes with soft apricot and vanilla from the barrel. Creamy thick body with soft carb. Nice roasty sweet dark malt mid palate with great soft sweet bourbon complementing. Long sweetish roasty finish.

Great expectations after having the High West and Rittenhouse Rye. Aroma of mocha Appearance of brown frothy foam head on top of pitch black opaque body Taste is mix of forward chocolate and light alcohol with lingering mocha notes Palate is smooth, mild carbonation Overall I found this Eclipse lacking to my liking.

bottle at braukunst live 2014 in munich. almost black, slightly muddy with a lasting tan head; aroma of chocolate crackles, bourbon vanilla; some dessicated coconut flavour, brandy butter, vanilla cream, hints of cocoa bitterness; pleasant level of barrel-aging - not all sweet and sticky but instead rich and complex. a real winner

Bottle, 2013 vintage. Lasting thick tan head with massive lace on top the pitch black opaque liquid. Aroma is old molasses, earthy malts, bourbon and oak. Flavor has lots of bakers chocolate upfront with a sticky molasses body and mouthfeel. No alcohol or warmth after the sip makes it much easier to drink yet after sampling many of these it seems like it is better to drink 50/50 ’s fresh. Don’t let them sit long. The bourbon is here but feels muted under all the sweet molasses and chocolate. Good but not really worth the price tag.
