"Better than the Evan Williams in 2010 - still a stretch for the price, though. We split a bottle in SF. This was a sweet, bourbony beer that highlighted the dark chocolate aspects of the beer and a touch of vanilla from the wood. delicious."

Bomber-2013 version. Pours cave black with a nice thick tan head. Wonderful barrel aroma with chocolate and coffee notes. Taste is the same with a beautiful smoothness that just flows down. Alcohol is present-enough to let you know what you’re getting into. Expensive bottle but I’d certainly pick up more of these. One of the best beers I’ve had this year.

Bottle at Mane Liquor Eclipse tasting. 2013 version. Pours dark brown with a sticky tan head. Nose is honey treacle, vanilla, moderate bourbon, oak and sweet molasses. Sweet with a little bit of finesse. Taste is sticky sweet honey with some heavy bourbon kicks which come in and out. Quite earthy and woody this one. Some dirt and dried fruits come in and out which I really like. This one is growing on me quite a bit. Not as sweet as the last few and the complexity is coming out nicely. Quite woody and grass on the finish. Warming in a pleasing way. Digging this one a lot. It’s got aggression and finesse all at the same time

2013 vintage. Pours a pitch black with a medium, quickly settling tan head. Aromas of muscovado sugar, bourbon, leather, pancetta, soy sauce, smoke, wood, roasted nuts. Very nice on the nose. Not as good as the Elijah Craig ones but very nice. Taste is bourbon, smoked ham, soy sauce, muscovado sugar, roasted hazelnuts, aftertaste is bourbon notes, slight liqourice and burnt sugar. Mouthfeel is very smooth with low carbonation.

Bottle @ Odense Get Together Short Notice, August-14. Thanks SFH for sharing. 2013. Red Wax. Pours black with a creamy beige head and lacings. Vanilla, roast, mild booze, coffee and bourbon. Smooth and slick! Vinous , complex and just pure deliciousness!

Odense Late Summer Post-Munkekonge Whale Spotting Night. 2013 vintage. Black with a small, but lasting tan head. The well balanced aroma has licorice, chocolate and bourbon with a faint charcoal note. Sweet, roasted flavour with nice bourbon character. Very tasty, though perhaps a little bit on the sugary sweet side for my taste, and with a little too much burnt character in the finish.

22oz red waxed bomber shared by Scott. Poured pitch black with a finger of creamy dark tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, sweet caramel, vanilla, coconut, and whiskey. Taste of burnt malts, coffee, dark chocolate, caramel, oak, and whiskey. Solid stout!!
