Bottle shared @ Bottle @ Ølkonsortiets sommerfest 2015. Pours black with a beige head. Aroma of dried sweet fruits, vanilla, sweet red wine, weak tannin, honey, chocolate and wood. Taste is pretty oxidized with notes of plums, chocolate, dark sweet fruits, tannin, honey and vanilla. Nice!

How: Bottle (22 oz) at tasting.

>>> One more tasty but hot and boozy barrel-aged Imperial Stout like so many others.

+ Surprisingly still bursting with coffee even after 4 years in bottle
+ Packed with a lot of flavors and while it’s not 100% cohesive, it’s definitely quite complex
+ Rich palate with a full body, a thick and oily mouthfeel that seems even thicker because of the low carbonation as well as a nice warming (borderline burning though) finish
A bit hot and messy even after four years in bottle
Nothing really stands out with this one, so it ends up being one more tasty but boozy RIS like a ton of others

Flavors: Coffee, bourbon, dark chocolate, wood spiciness, caramel, alcohol, vanilla, red fruits (mild)

The nose has coffee, licorice, chocolate powder and lovely oak. Taste: samesies but with really dark fruits bordering on oxydiced sourness / vinous plum juice and keeps lingering on in the same way in the aftertaste. Love the nose! Tak Morten & Svend!

Bottle @ ØlKonsortiet summer shananigans. Black with small beige head. Aroma is full of fattym buttery bourbon notes, creamy vanilla, tannins, lots of shiraz-like red wine fruitiness, bitter cocoa, lots of raisin and dark fruit notes and plenty of very mellow and delicious oxidation. Taste has awesome oak tannins on top of heavy bourbon notes, lots of oxidation (in a very good way), liquorice notes. Round, balanced and very complex. Has aged gracefully, although slightly flat and bland in the after taste. Very good!

Pours a good black with a small beige head that leaves good lacing. Nose is of roasted malt, chocolate and green pepper. Taste is of chocolate, roasted malt and lightly boozy. Body is medium-full, carbonation moderate and I thought it was a little hot. A good imperial stout but not a top tier-one.

pours unclear dark brown with a small creamy beige cap, nicely reviving and leaving nice lacing. roasted and lightly smoked chocolate, salty berries, raisins, molasses and burnt smooth sugars, burnt caramel, woodsy if not woody, spices and vanilla. light to low carbonation, medium to full body - syrupy, warming, spicy and woodsy finish. very good BA stout.

Bottle pour at home, celebriting the allstar break, here’s to the Mariners taking the division. Almost black pour, no head, aroma of Bourbon, very smooth beer, chocolate, coffee, bourbon, sweet taste. Lot of complex flavors. Have been waiting to try some beer from these guys and I’m very impressed.
