Pours black. Nose is chocolate, honey, nuts, toasted malts, light coffee, some hops, bourbon, caramels, vanilla. Falavor is a smooth and classic blend of roast, coffee, chocolate, sweet caramel, bitter astringent malts and hops. Full oily body. Nicr rich balanced profile. Very nice.

Bottle # 53 of 2011 pours like CokaCola with non-existent head. Aroma of dark fruits and wine. Flavors of coffee, chocolate, and dark fruits. Very well balanced and flavorful.

Aroma- marshmallow, coffee beans, milk chocolate, bourbon, oak, molasses Appearance- pitch black, thin white head Taste- soft, velvety bourbon burn upfront, followed by some chocolate, roasted notes, caramel, more bourbon, roasted notes and an insanely smooth finish blending all of the components together Palate- not as thick as I normally like but the mouthfeel on this thing is unreal, smooth and coating without being cloyingly thick Overall- A perfectly blended BA imperial stout. Everything is there making this one of the best beers I’ve ever had.

This has been calling my name since I got it. Shared with Matt & Krissi tonight. The beer has very little head. The color is dark brown. The head is oily and does stay around for a while. The aroma brings a lot of oak, followed by bourbon. Lots of wood (that’s what she said!). Straightforward in the aroma, which is dominated by barrel character. Again, lots of barrel flavor, which I love. Silky smooth on the palate. Low carbonation. Perhaps too low. Some more carbonation would be beneficial. I still thought this was a delicious beer. A bit tannic with a mild sharpness in the back. Overall, really good. A departure from the norm. Well done. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 01-29-2012

Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured black color with a moderate frothy light brown head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Medium to heavy toasted chocolate, wood, dark sweet and small alcohol aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy wood and sweet malt flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a standout beer.

Bottle, 22oz. It’s a dark brown beer, topped by a beige head of moderate size. Some bourbon and vanilla in the aroma, but mostly chocolate and roasted malts. Some licorice and alcohol. Quite sweetish on the palate, full-bodied and soft on the palate. Some alcohol warmth. Vanilla, bourbon, chocolate and roasted malts. Some bitterness in the finish. A very tasteful and easy drinkable beer. A tasteful one indeed. 121109
