Poured an ugly orange brown center with light muddy edges and a smaller foamy white head. Aroma is damn solid, woody, light burnt honey, dry fruit, hiney topped bread, molasses, very slight hint of alcohol. Medium body, softer carbonation and some decent heat to slow you down on this big boy. Flavor of caramel and molassess, dry wood, alcohol, honey topped grains, hint of watered down scotch. Put this in the like column.

On draft. Slightly murky orange pour, with a thin off white head. Sweet caramel, sugary, fruit, whiskey, citrus, sweet bread, and bitter finish. Too sweet for me, but ok.

Pours orange yellow and hazy. Aroma is hoppy with booze and straw/hay. Mouthfeel sweet, hoppy, sticky. Med body for barley wine. Very good ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Oak aging is obvious in tasting, where it mainly provides woody and rye whisky flavors, but it’s subtle at most in the aroma. Fruit and booze in the nose. Nicely complex and soft for style but alcohol should be more hidden .

Golden brown in color with fair amount of sediment... Aroma of honey, caramel, light spices... Flavor is sweet caramel, honey with rye spices and light hop notes on the palate... Delicious ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bomber from Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours really hazy, murky, dark copper with a transient beige head. Aroma is woody, rye spice and marvelous stone fruits. Like pickled peach minus the pickeling? An aroma that is marvelously new to me. Flavor? There’s tropical and citrus/apple. Amazing. Especially the rye. With wood on tongue edges. Simply amazing flavors. Finishing wood and fruit and rye spice. Not quite dry, but going that way. Frickin delicious!!!

Bottle from Capitol Beer & Tap Room. Pours orange/brown with a modest beige head and a fruity aroma. There is a vanilla/bourbon fruit flavor with lots of alcohol and a warm finish. A very nice barley wine.

Last pour that was at GABF on Saturday afternoon session. A remarkably smooth and delicious blend of a sweet barleywine, bourbon, hops, dark honey. Delicious.

Enjoyed at gabf 2014. It pours with a clear copper body that supports a tiny white head. The mild aroma is kind of a mix of resiny pine hops and spicy oak with a flash or two of malts off in the background. The taste delivers thick malts and molasses and some burnt sugars, some aged pine hops, spicy oak as well as a nectar sweet goodness here and there that shines some light on the smooth soft bourbon like notes that lurk in the background. This creates a pleasing sipping experience.

Sampled at GABF 2014. Pours a hazy golden body with white lacing. Aroma is vanilla, sweet maple, fruit and oak. Mouthfeel is medium to full with notes of sweet vanilla, apples, light earthy grains, spice and oak. Ok.
