Think this is for a 2008 Concentrated Evil, have ratings for both 2008 and 2009, we’ll see if they are different. Draft. Rich amber beer with an off-white head. Bourbon and light fruit aroma with malt. Bourbon and malt flavor with light fruit and yeast. Medium bodied. Bourbon and malt lingers with light earthy yeast.

Tap at City Beer, third rating of this beer. Nose is big red malts, like a double red aged in Pappy Van Winkle barrels - very Goose Island, IMO. Dark red brown color. Flavor was smooth bourbon wood, light roast, light coffee, booze. Kinda couldn’t taste a base beer under this, just a very diluted bourbon. Hmm. Good though - I guess an analogy would be aged Double Bastard.

On tap at Bistro BA fest poured a hazy dark brown with a small lasting tan head. Aromas of carmel, dark fruit and light oakj. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of carmel, light fruittiness, light vanilla and light oak with a smooth oaky finish.

Draft @ Bistro Barrel Aged Festival. Pours a murky, brownish-orange color; light tan head with patchy fine-bubbled lacing; slightly oily. Loads of soft, lightly charred barrel notes, brown sugar, and relaxed sweetness compared to the regular version; soft bourbon / whiskey. Light carbonation; loads of sweetness, chewy dense barrel notes, good amounts of oiliness; nice dense, oily, generous, well-integrated and significantly better than the regular version; not bad at all. Lengthy finish of sweet barrel notes, basic sugar, and toastiness.
