At the brew pub, with a sampler. Very dark brown, with minimal dark tan head. Strong nose of bourbon and chocolate, nice! Taste was on the heavy side, with the chocolate and booze leading the way. Very nice for an after dinner drink.

Draught at the brewpub. The board said that this was 9.5%abv. Black with a small tan head. Great aroma that is a rich showcase of bourbon-barrel aging, with lots of caramel, vanilla, dates, raisins, oak, bourbon, and dark cherries. The flavor is heavy on milk chocolate and caramel, but has a dry, woody, bourbony feel with a light alcoholic bite. There is some dried fruit as well before a warming and dry finish. Medium-full bodied with smooth, lower carbonation. Lots of bourbon, but very well integrated. The only thing that I thought held it back was the light tannic astringency in the mouthfeel.
