Bottle:   Dirty caramel, darker, thin sudsy off-white head, sparce lacing.   Dark bready aroma, dark pitted fruit, lots of raisin on the nose.   Peppery start, raisin, dark pitted fruit, but not a lot of body.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   Does hide its 11% very well.   Very minor mineral like flavor on the backside.   Not a lot of depth, but has a decent raisin and dark pitted fruit profile.   Lots of brown sugar as well, even a little burnt.   Decent, but a little simple.

Sweet aroma. Browninsh color with an off-white head. Moderately sweet, a bit of off-flavors, think this might be turning.

Dark, muddy, cider-brown, with burnt caramel cream-foam top. Belgian esters and phenols greet the nose - a muddy mix. Chocolate banana bread and a thread of alcohol burn. Again, a muddy yeast mix. Esters and phenols galore. Earthy yeasty. Some alcohol burn. But well melded. Definitely an evil experience.

Courtesy of markwise. It pours up clear amber with copper edges and thin mocha head. The aroma is brown sugar, cinnamon, a bit of anise spice, cherry hard candy prunes and searing heat. The taste is similar with brown sugar, prunes, sweet cherry flavored hard candy (that borders on cherry cough syrup) and a bit of molasses. This is too sweet for me.
4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Cybercat (1907) - Georgia, USA - JUL 29, 2011
Aroma has a strong tone of brown sugar, plus hints of miso and malt. It pours a clear cola brown with a thick, fluffy beige head that leaves some respectable lacing. Rich flavor has tones of caramel, malt, horehound and apple plus just a touch of grass or herbs. Lively texture leaves behind a sweet caramel-apple finish. Concentrated Evil? This beer is GOOD!
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 ngeunit1 (823) - Mountain View, California, USA - JUL 28, 2011
A - Pours a reddish-brown color with a thin covering of off-white head. The head faded fairly quickly leaving behind very little lace.
S - Aroma is full of sour raisin and other dark fruit flavors. There is also a bit of sweetness from some caramel malts and a touch of yeast mixed in.
T - Starts off with some fairly strong sour raisin flavor and some other dark fruits. There is a touch of sweetness from the caramel malts in the background. Through the middle, the sourness subsides a bit and the sweetness grows with a bit of yeast coming through. The finish is a mix of sweet and sour with a bit of alcohol flavor coming through that lingers.
M - Medium bodied with low carbonation. Feels a bit watery and a bit resiny. Overall, the mouthfeel is not quite there.
D - Pretty drinkable. Seems like this did not quite hold up as expected and the raisin flavor seems stronger than planned. That being said, I found it very interesting and am happy to have given it a shot.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 wedgie9 (1441) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - JUL 17, 2011
Tasted on 7/17/11 from a 22oz bottle purchased at City Beer in September of 2010, so this must have had a black cap. Pours cloudy orange-brown with no head, but a bit of uneven spotty lace. The nose is very malty with tons of caramel, lightly tart, dried fruits, and very intense earthy and somewhat spicy Belgian yeast, and a bit of banana. The flavor features some burnt bitterness and tart fruits, and a ton of caramel malt, but still very dry, along with the spicy and earthy Belgian yeast. The body is full and oily with light carbonation and a long tart raisin and caramel malt finish.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Svesse (4397) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - JUL 5, 2011
(Bottle, Oliver Twist, Stockholm, 4 July 2011) Hazy, dark amber colour with brief head. Malty, fruity, slightly sourish nose with caramel, dried fruit, raisins and cherries in brandy. A slight oxidization? Malty, fruity taste with notes of caramel, dried fruit, orange peel, hints of cellar and a balanced citric bitterness in the finish. Medium body, slightly sweetish, with alcohol fairly well hidden. There are some indications of a beer not in top shape, but it’s decent and interesting.
