Bottle shared by KBL at the fest. Roasty black, nice chocolate, berry fruit, and roast flavors. Rather sweet and creamy. PRetty good stuff.

A bottle I picked up at Craft Beer Base & brought to share at the Kyoto Craft Beer Fest. It pours a dark brown with a tan head. A nice chocolaty solid porter, sweet & malty with hints of chocolate and roast bitterness.

Sugary sweet nose, caramel, very herbal, cocoa, coffee, way to sweet and a odd flavor that really ruins the beer for me.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 timfoolery (883) - California, USA - FEB 7, 2013
Bottle from Scott. Aroma and flavor of molasses, semi-sweet chocolate, and some fudge. Taste profile blew the palate out of the water, as it was fairly bright and rough around the edges. Carb was good. Very nice, rich beer.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 jonno (2001) - JAPAN - NOV 23, 2012
Great Porter. Really well balanced, hugely drinkable and the roasty finish is so well integrated in to the package it comes off as one well rounded product in the mouth. Nice heavy, though well weighted body too. This is what good beer is all about - no need for huge ABVs and off kilter ingredients. Just good, honest beer values.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 wchesser (664) - Denver, Colorado, USA - NOV 21, 2012
Nice dark roast malt and coffee nose, but a bit flat. Coffee brown color. Flavor also seems flat and mostly light roast coffee. Good but not great. Doesn’t hit all the right porter spots for me. Maybe fatigued palate after tasters of their IPAs at Hops and Pie’s tap takover? Will need to try again if I get a chance.

Tap @ Hops and Pies Denver during FiftyFifty tap takeover. Pours a deep brown appearance with a cream/tan head. Aromas of roast, chocolate, mild coffee, and a bit of piney hops. Pretty easy drinking, roasty chocolate malty flavor with a touch of anise and vanilla. Not bad.

Not a proper rating, but leaving a note on how punctuated thisporter is from fresh flavor hops (Columbus?) There’s a bitter hop finish a alcohol warmth that sort of cuts the sweet chocolate notes leaving you to want more.
